Overview:
The Online Marketing Manager is responsible for the strategy, execution and evaluation of all online advertising channels (paid search, display, search engine marketing (SEM) and affiliate) to drive prospective student inquiries in support of enrollment goals. This role will manage an interactive marketing agency, which is responsible for online advertising placements and supports other online marketing initiatives. This position is also responsible for identifying and supporting implementation of marketing requirements within the Salesforce CRM database, and providing data analytics for marketing performance measurement. A key objective of the role is to support the development and implementation of innovations that will deliver growth to the university.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage all online marketing programs to ensure growth goals are met in each channel.
Oversee all online advertising contracts and on-boarding of any new partners.
Manage relationships with and performance from all affiliate vendors to ensure that all partners are fulfilling their requirements and delivering quality leads that contribute to enrollment goals.
Lead weekly calls and monthly reporting calls with interactive agency and each affiliate marketing partner to track and manage program performance, and prioritize activities as needed.
Manage and optimize the online advertising budget across all online channels, troubleshoot issues, and ensure vendor invoices are accurate and are paid in a timely manner.
Oversee regular performance reporting to enable business decisions based on optimizing results.
Monitor lead flow into CRM database, maintaining channel/source data, and provide CRM data analytics.
Identify and evaluate online marketing innovations that will support the ongoing growth of prospective student demand.
Attend relevant industry events and training to stay informed and keep skills current with the latest online marketing innovations and technologies.
Attend inter-departmental meetings for cross-channel learning about the online experience for the University community.
Manage and administer event calendar database/system.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, digital/internet marketing, business administration or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Minimum 5 years of experience in online marketing (e.g., display advertising, SEM, affiliate marketing, etc.) with increasing responsibility, preferably in higher ed, a nonprofit organization, advertising/brand agency, or service industry.
Minimum 2 years of experience managing and optimizing complex online media buys, managing development of landing pages, and managing an interactive agency.
Uses sound judgment in making decisions independently, knowing when to escalate to leader.
Inclined to innovate and identify continuous improvements (instead of maintaining status quo).
Ability to influence at all levels in an organization; excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills with a service-minded approach.
Able to work effectively, both independently and as part of cross-functional/departmental teams.
Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to produce quality work within tight deadlines.
Demonstrates a sense of urgency and excellent follow-through on all projects.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Articulates clearly and effectively in both written and verbal communications.
Self-motivated, self-directed, and results-driven.
