Glass Manufacturing - General Manager
Glass Manufacturing - Sacramento, CA

Glass Manufacturing/fabrication company is in search of an Operations Leader to oversee two plants in Northern California area. Position would be responsible for 60+ person operations. Direct reports include Production Managers, Sales and Operations. This position is directly responsible for managing the budget for the operations, along with safety, process improvement, sales, customer relations, quality, and state and federal regulatory compliance. Coordinates activities of the operations, manufacturing, engineering, planning, sales and maintenance to maximize operational efficiencies. Directs promotion of manufactured products to develop new markets, increase share of market and/or obtain competitive position. Establishes financial and production goals and negotiates pricing of machinery.

Develops budgets, bottom line P&L accountability while meeting targets in cost control, waste reduction, safety, quality and complete and on time performance. Builds, develops, and manages operation leadership team capable of carrying out needed operations strategies & improving employee engagement. Fosters an environment of collaboration, problem solving, communication and compliance.

Qualified candidates will have the following required competencies:

BA/BS in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
5+ years of directly related experience
5+ years of leadership/management of exempt positions and multiple departments
Glass experience HIGHLY preferred
Must be hands on with Operations and hold sales aptitude
Proven experience of planning and forecasting
Manage multiple priorities
Superb communications skills at every level of the organization both verbally and written
Strategic planning, problem resolution, decision making and reasoning skills must be excellent
High level presentation skills with executives and customers as well as with hourly personnel
Proficient with all Microsoft office products

Experience with Lean manufacturing a plus
Flow capacity and manpower utilization along with freight, materials management and distribution also highly desired

Frequent travel required between the two locations (approx.. 100 miles each way every other week), Corporate office and trade shows.

Salary commeasurate with experience.
