IT Project Manager
Position Summary
Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that includes a mix of custom application development, package implementation and support, and a growing and changing technology infrastructure. The candidate will be involved in various aspects of project planning and project management. This will involve interactions with development staff, internal business users and external customers and partners, infrastructure staff, as well as external organizations (Customers, suppliers, etc.). Must be focused, hard-working and self-motivated
Responsibilities
- Work with IT Staff to create project estimates and project plans
- Drive projects to completion on time and within budget
- Report project statuses to management and stakeholders
- Manage pending project queue
- Manage changes within and across projects to meet dynamic business needs
- Coordinate interactions between IT, the business users, and customers
- Interact with IT management regarding work assignments and status
Requirements
- Team-Oriented, Detail-Oriented Individual, Effective Communicator (both written and verbal), Strong Work Ethic
- PMI certification is a plus
Required experience:
- 3-5 years of project management experience
- Demonstrated success in a project team setting
- Project experience in a leadership capacity
- Experience managing software development projects (SDLC)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Building project plans using project management software
- Willingness to adapt and learn new technologies and methodologies
- Experience with issue tracking solutions as well as project and portfolio management solutions
Preferred experience:
- Experience working with PPM tools
- Experience in the transportation or logistics business is a plus
- Experience working on a system implementation team
