Marketing Communications Manager
A small, successful software firm in Menlo Park is looking for a dynamic, aggressive, forward-thinking leader to manage our high quantity of content, create new materials, and drive the content through Web, social, video, and other channels. This position has upward mobility potential.
You will work directly with our entire 10-person team to develop effective marketing programs that create positive brand awareness of SmartOrg's solutions with key executives across a range of industries. Your programs and marketing deliverables will help them understand how SmartOrg helps our clients drive value through creative business decision making.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced marketing professional with a strong writing background. You are an enthusiastic self-starter who is collaborative, curious, creative, goal oriented and focused on the details.
Responsibilities:
*Work closely with our sales, product and executive teams to develop a comprehensive marketing and content program that focuses on key priorities for SmartOrg.
*Create new marketing collateral and other content, often based on pieces that we have already created.
*Work with freelancers and contractors for writing, design, video production, and media outreach.
*Manage web site, developing content that demonstrates industry insight and strong knowledge of product features, function, values and news.
*Oversee company blog, social campaigns, creation of videos and PR.
*Manage content for lead-generation campaigns that help drive qualified customer leads.
*Support participation in trade shows and key industry events, including logistics, show floor displays and staffing, and on-site activities that draw attention for SmartOrg.
Qualifications:
*5-7 years' experience in B2B marketing, marketing communications, events and digital media programs.
*Strong writing skills – journalism background a plus.
*PR, advertising, or marketing agency experience a plus.
*Degree in English, journalism, marketing, or design desired.
*Strong writing samples.
*Experience working with multiple stakeholders, teams, and C-level executives.
*2-3 references from supervisors who are familiar with your writing skills.

*Great communication skills – you're able to provide clear and concise guidance through emails, over the phone, or in person.
*Team player – we're a small organization, and "fit" is extremely important.
*Able to efficiently switch contexts from producing web copy regularly, to planning participation in an industry event, to meeting with the product team about promotions for a new product or feature.
*Relentlessly optimistic.
*Strong writing skills, with a casual and confident tone.
*Organized professional, who can think fast on your feet.
*Good listener and can get to the heart of what people say.
*Strong business experience.
