Our start up technology client based in San Mateo, CA is seeking a Social Media Manager. As the Social Media Manager, you will join our clients' Marketing team, leading the strategic development and execution of our social media initiatives. You'll be an evangelist for the social media channel within the company, and the social strategist determining how to reach, build, and engage social audiences to generate interest and demand for our business-to-business cloud infrastructure technology.

Bring your previous experience with social platforms and analytics software, such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, Slideshare, and Google Analytics, Hootsuite, etc. and use your content marketing and creative writing skills to build engaging content across all social channels, including the company. Participate in third-party sites and channels, and engage other influencers to help tell and amplify the company's story.

The ideal candidate is nimble in reacting to the changing social media landscape, and has the ability to transition effortlessly from visionary planner to hands-on executor. Must be a passionate social media enthusiast with a flexible, collaborative attitude. Responsibilities:

Create and own the company's social media marketing strategy with channels that can include: engagement, social selling, internal / external brand advocate programs, social listening, community management.

Build a strong, engaging, brand-appropriate voice in social channels in alignment with company-wide marketing goals and contribute to our overall online strategy. Manage and protect brand perceptions online through active listening.

Define and monitor key social media performance indicators and implement appropriate analytics and reporting measurements to gauge success. Compile ongoing reports that measure results and analyze and optimize our strategy.

Ideate and execute well branded, engaging social media campaigns – using the deep list of existing content assets, web seminars, customer stories, and third-party news mentions to tell the company story to audiences via social.

Take on outreach to third-parties, known influencers, and those we should know in the social sphere to grow our community

Help lead the social marketing strategy to convert social audiences from followers to customers

Monitor and engage in brand, product and related cloud online conversations

Plan and own the social media calendar that supports our social media objectives. Manage calendar, deadlines, and asset coordination for social media projects across functions

Own the social media playbook as a means of documenting all approved processes for the organization

Provide leadership and training for all employees, particularly Sales and Marketing teams, and develop programs to enable them to effectively join and use social media

Study and report on the competitions' use of social media and apply learnings to our plans and engagement tactics

Own and manage relationships with our social media vendors, external PR agency, partners and key industry influencers

Contribute to the broader Marketing team success, especially lending your expertise to overall digital marketing activity

Skills:

2-5 years' experience in social media management/marketing, working on behalf of at least one B2B technology company

Must have experience implementing social media strategies as well as executing successful social media campaigns, including measurement

Must have experience managing professional social media channels, including Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, and Slideshare and have awareness of other social platforms

Expert with online community management and the features/ functionality of major social networks: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Slideshare, Instagram

Experience with web and social media analytics tools and reporting, especially campaign analysis and online analytics tools

Understanding of SEO best practices for digital content creation

Baseline familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud or similar tools and an eye toward aesthetically pleasing design is helpful to visually enhance our social content

Excellent writing, copy editing and proofreading skills

Extreme attention to detail and outstanding organization skills

Self-motivated and willing to take on new challenges

Works well with a variety of key internal and external stakeholders

Flexibility to take on projects and tasks that may arise outside the social media job description– we're a start-up, and everyone wears lots of hats. Event support, supporting customer case study development, or managing web site updates are examples where your help could be needed.

Bachelors' degree in Business, Marketing, Digital Media, Journalism or equivalent

Portfolio: Social Media campaign examples required for consideration.

SALARY: D.O.E; as full time, salaried employee of client

LOCATION: Fully onsite at clients' San Mateo headquarters

HOURS/DURATION: Standard business hours, PST. ASAP – full time employment. No phone calls, please
