The HR Technology Senior Consultant role is a role within Aon Hewitt and is part of the Talent and Rewards Consulting Team. As a member of the this team you will lead and support the review of client's current state HR technology landscape and help to define the client's needs for future state solutions. You will be expected to lead a project team in solutions development, technology implementation planning, and technology assessments. You will likely travel up to 60% of the time.
Core Responsibilities
Direct involvement and leadership on technology-related HR service delivery projects. Activities could include:
Sales Meetings
Proposal writing and review
Oversight and leadership in developing HR technology solutions that include architecture, applications, implementation, and/or delivery
Defining and designing with clients, solutions that are aligned closely with client's business and where possible, leading practices in HR Technology and HR Service Delivery
Working closely with other THRS leaders at Hewitt to refine and integrate our technology offer with the other, more functional components of Hewitt's HR Transformation suite of services
Large project management of THRS projects
Ensure Hewitt's technology implementations and solutions design decisions are well defined and communicated
Facilitate and participate in project technology solution reviews
Solution and estimation support to sales and pre-sales during implementation studies and bid proposals
Required Skills
Must be willing to travel regularly visiting and consulting with project teams on customer sites 40-60% of the time
Must be willing to work from a U.S. Hewitt location or work virtual from a home office located near a major U.S. airport
An excellent understanding and ability to separate technical and business needs and an ability to speak both technical and business language
Will have strong consulting and customer engagement skills communicating both with business and technical audiences
Aptitude and/or interest in selling
Demonstrable experience communicating at senior levels within client organizations
Experience of providing solution management, supervision and mentorship
Excellent communicator, process driven and proven leader with excellent influencing skills
Will be self motivated and will have a proven ability to self-learn through on the job training
Qualifications
Required Experience
At least 10+ years experience in designing and/or developing HR software systems and HR software implementations
Strong client presentation and interaction skills
Will have spent the last 5+ years in an architect/senior systems analyst position working with large scale enterprise systems, specifically Oracle HRMS, PeopleSoft HR, SAP HCM, or SaaS solutions for HR.
At least 5 years as a project manager with at least 1 year on a scale of > 15 people and/or > $300k/month run rate
Experience with talent point solutions is a plus
Will have experience of the full software lifecycle and will have worked on a number of full software lifecycle projects
Excellent requirements analysis, gap analysis, software design and data modeling skills including the ability to identify patterns in both requirements and solutions
Strong experience in estimation, scope management and risk assessment techniques
A good understanding of software implementation methodologies
