We currently have a Spring Java Web developer contract position in Phoenix, AZ.

Duration: 6+ Months
Basic Responsibilities:
- Understanding and evaluating complex pre-existing systems, requirements, and processes.
- Collaborating closely with technical architects, development managers, project managers, and other subject matter experts to understand requirements, design, define, and implement java based solutions related to the organization's use of the Lombardi Teamworks platform version 7.1.
- Developing system specifications, unit tests, and high-quality Java-based application artifacts under the general direction of design objective of the project.
- Modeling existing business processes using the Lombardi Teamworks WebAPI to manage workflow activities.
- Designing and implementing large, complex Java-based solutions that will involve extensive integration between Lombardi Teamworks and other external application and security frameworks.
- Analyzing existing processes, applications, and components. Researching, evaluating, and recommending ideas for improvements.
Required (must have) skills and minimum qualifications:
- Experience implementing complex Java-based solutions that involve extensive external system integration - Knowledge of Java enterprise design patterns and best practices
- Extensive experience with Java enterprise application servers. Tomcat and JBoss application server experience is strongly preferred. Experience building application systems where service hundreds of users.
- Spring 2.x & 3.x, Hibernate 3.0+, and Spring frameworks
- Java JDK 1.4.2 & 1.5, JDBC, Collections, JavaBeans, concurrency, multi-threading, etc - REST, SOAP, web services design and security best practices
- HTTP, cookies, digital signatures, SAML, Java Authentication and Authorization Service (JAAS)
- JSON, XML, XSLT, JavaScript
- Database experience with complex SQL queries, stored procedures, performance tuning & database modeling. Oracle 10g is preferred.
- Full software development life-cycle experience. Extensive experience with unit testing methodologies and frameworks such as JUnit
- Experience using the Eclipse IDE and source code management tools such as IBM ClearCase
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent experience - 4+ years of Java enterprise development experience
Preferred skills:
- Financial services knowledge and experience especially within the boarding and servicing areas would be a strong plus
- Blaze, DROOLS or JRules experience would also be a strong plus
- Knowledge of the Lombardi Teamworks 7 WebAPI
- Development of Lombardi Teamworks Coaches, integration services
- Design and development of Lombardi Teamworks BPDs - including all aspects of proper data mapping.
