San Carlos, CA based MarkLogic, the leader in Big Data, is developing exciting new applications to help companies exploit their unstructured data. We are looking for a world class hands-on leader to evangelize and drive the user experience for all user-facing applications across the company, and crossing from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0 interaction styles.
Based on your experience with a broad suite of modern tools and techniques and evidenced by a rich portfolio of interactive work, you will help customers interact with their data in ways unimagined before.

Designer
Responsibilities:
Evangelize design and interaction across the company.
Conceptualize the interaction between user and data to deliver solutions, iterate as a peer with development engineers, product managers, marketing and company management to deliver timely browser-based applications within our engineering life cycle.
Effectively interact with customers and company consultants and partners to articulate problems and effectively collect information to iterate designs.
Create design and interaction standards for all user-facing company products.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field, or equivalent work experience, plus 10+ years of experience in end to end user interaction / user experience in software market.
Track record of being a "hands on" leader for user/interaction/experience for a company's product line.
Extensive experience working successfully with cutting edge technologies like rich internet applications (RIA) or gaming platforms.
Individual must have portfolio that gives solid evidence of highly innovative and market leading product designs
Experience founding a new project and taking it to completion or successful launch
Solid understanding of HTML (including HTML5 and legacy browsers), CSS, JavaScript (and technologies like jQuery or DoJo, and AJAX), XML and JSON,
Proven experience in partnering with product management and engineering
Strong verbal, written and presentation skills are a must
