Director Compensation & Benefits Position at Simmons Bedding Co.- North Atlanta(Perimeter Mall Area)
Location/Department: Concourse (Atlanta - Perimeter Area) / Human Resources
Salary Grade: 15
FLSA Status: Full-Time Exempt
Summary: Responsible for the strategic planning, development, implementation, communication, analysis, and oversight/administration of the Company's Total Rewards (Compensation and Benefits including retirement) for US and Canada.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and present Total Rewards philosophy objectives and overall deliverables to Executive Leadership, Management, and HR Leadership
- Develops and implements ongoing employee communications initiatives to ensure positive employees’ valuation of their total rewards with the organization.
- Manage the study, analysis, design, evaluation, communication, implementation, and administration of current compensation programs, policies and procedures; develop recommendations for improvement
- Manage the job evaluation program including the job evaluation process, developing and maintaining formal job grades and salary ranges, job analysis, and the preparation of written job descriptions as well as assesses program effectiveness
- Facilitate and track the annual merit and performance appraisal programs
- Manage a variety of salary surveys and the analysis of related data
- Interpret and ensure compliance with state and federal compensation-related laws
- Evaluate current benefit programs to determine competitive posture and recommend improvements
- Evaluate, recommend and analyze continued wellness program(s) initiatives.
- Ensure compliance of benefit programs with all applicable legal requirements
- Respond to employee questions on benefit issues
- Serve as primary interface with benefit plan vendors
- Monitor benefit plan billings and expenses; investigates any variance to budget.
- Develop and execute strategy and plans for educating associates on benefit issues
- Develop, track, and analyze financial data quarterly and monthly reports for benefit plans

Education/Experience & Job Factors/Work Environment:
* 5-10 years progressively responsible related experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Professional certification preferred
- CCP, CEBS, and/or SPHR/PHR certification
- Masters Degree helpful
- Advanced Excel skills, intermediate Word and PowerPoint skills
- Solid skills using HRIS systems such as Enterprise, PeopleSoft or similar systems
- Up to 25percent travel, some international (Canada)
- Work is primarily sedentary in nature
Position Qualifications:
- Experience with progressive compensation and benefit programs
- Experience working within a large, corporate environment advising Senior Management
- Experience in Executive Compensation
- Must have working knowledge of the following: stock plan and 401k administration, SEC
- Reporting and compliance, ERISA, IRC, DOL, Sec 125, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and ADA; similar knowledge of Canadian benefits laws.
