[JimsJobs] (Articles) Career Tips: Focus Your Search

 

When you are in an active career search, you desperately need to focus your energies, but at the same time there are so many things you COULD work on, so many job sites you COULD review and respond to, so much research you COULD be doing, so many meetings you COULD be having or attending, etc.  And there are so many choices as to career directions, companies, industries and roles to pursue.  Plus, you continually receive advice from others on your résumé, cover letter, marketing strategy, choices you are making, etc., and you can easily get overwhelmed.

How do you decide where to focus your energies?  And how do you keep from getting distracted and sucked into bottomless pits of less productive activities?
