Search Marketing Manager


The Search Marketing Manager will be a key individual contributor of the marketing team and will report to the Sr. Director, Internet Marketing. He / She will manage marketing campaigns and will be responsible for generating leads from SEM, SEO and Email. This hands-on position will extensively interact with others in Marketing, Sales, Web Design, Technology, Product Development, and Content Creation as well as with vendors such as Google and Microsoft.


Duties / Responsibilities:

- Responsible for generating sales leads on an ongoing basis and meet / exceed goals within assigned budgets and quality considerations
- Manage SEM campaigns (Google Adwords, Microsoft Adcenter)
- Develop, implement campaigns & optimization plans using techniques such as keyword & competitive analysis, ad copy & landing page optimization, A/B testing
- Identify and implement strategies for increasing sales leads though PPC, display network, SEO
- Monitor traffic, performance using web analytics tools such as Google analytics
- Lead keyword research, META tag development, content optimization, and link development on an ongoing basis
- Plan & execute email marketing campaigns; Analyze key sending variables (opens, clicks, unsubscribes, failed emails etc.) Address any significant variances and provide recommendations for improvements
- Conduct competitive benchmarking, analysis, and monitoring


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- BS with 5 years of overall experience including:
- 3+ years' full time experience at a dedicated Search Marketing consulting firm or in-house SEM position
- 1+ year exposure to SEO techniques & advancements, as well as Email marketing
- Experience in managing large Google Adwords / Microsoft Adcenter campaigns mandatory
- Experience in managing Cost Per Acquisition / Cost Per Lead campaigns preferable
- Expertise in keyword research, AD copy writing, Landing page optimization and Google Analytics (or any other Web analytics tool)
- Understanding of search engine ranking factors, algorithms, and information retrieval principles and philosophies
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to evangelize SEM / SEO / Email campaign projects and collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure implementation
- Google Adwords, Microsoft Adcenter certification is a plus


Key Measures of Success:

- Meeting or exceeding SEM lead generation goals
- Executing SEO strategies & Email campaigns
- Successfully working with cross functional teams to drive projects
