POSITION: Accountant, Cost
LOCATION: Berkeley, CA
REPORTS TO: Corporate Controller
**DIRECT-HIRE, FULL-TIME, OPPORTUNITY**
This position is accountable for the ongoing analysis of process costs, target costing
projects, margin analysis and tracing cost to underlying activities. Provide senior level
accounting support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements and/or maintains cost accounting system
- Prepares journal entries
- Maintains and reconciles ledger accounts to perpetual inventory and WIP values
- Analyze and explain manufacturing variance to management
- Maintain standard cost for all parts
- Support Finance and other functional areas for issues related to cost accounting
and inventory including analysis of significant activity, reporting, etc.
- May interpret reports and records for managers
- Post monthly journal vouchers as they relate to inventory, sales, cost of sales,
manufacturing variances, etc.
- Audit preparation and assist in cycle count audit.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Ideal candidate must have minimum of 5 – 7 years relevant experience
- Bachelor´s Degree in Accounting / Finance
- CMA or MBA preferred
- Must have successful experience and track-record of accomplishments in a
manufacturing environment
- Must be knowledgeable of Tier 1 manufacturing system (Oracle)
- Must have discrete and repetitive manufacturing experience
- Proficiency at spreadsheets and database programming preferred
- The right candidate will operate independently with minimal immediate
supervision required
- Excellent analytical skills.
- ORACLE 11i experience highly preferred.
