The Role: Continuous Improvement Manager
Location: Greater San Diego
A leading manufacturer of microelectronics has an excellent opportunity for an experienced continuous improvement leader. The Continuous Improvement Manager will advocate the Lean approach throughout our organization and provide enterprise-wide continuous improvement leadership. The incumbent will drive and promote Lean principals to enhance business execution performance and serve as a key member of our senior staff.
Our company provides complete production capability, from the initial substrate, to rigorous environmental testing, to the final "box" level assembly. We rely on a Lean approach that continues to reduce waste, allows the company to grow and expand services and capabilities, as well as meet the highest industry standards. With consistent sales growth of more than 20% annually for the last decade, we are poised for continued rapid and profitable growth.
Requirements:
œ Bachelors Degree in Electronics, Industrial Technology, Engineering or related area
œ 7-10 years of experience in a hi-tech manufacturing operations environment with at least 3 years in a focused, continuous improvement role
œ 3+ years hands on experience in a production environment with multiple lines and/or high volume
œ Operations experience with inventory oversight
œ Ability to groll uph sleeves and actively work on the production floor to improve processes and procedures
œ Demonstrated experience leading culture change and creating a continuous improvement environment
œ Experience working for Toyota or a Toyota supplier and utilizing Toyota Production Systems (TPS)
œ Expertise in value stream mapping, kaizen, 5S, poka-yokes and other lean processes
œ Previous civilian work experience in defense, aerospace or government contracting
œ Quality assurance or quality control experience helpful, but not required
