Sr Systems/Network Administrator (Linux)
A well funded cleantech startup is seeking an experienced Systems/Network Administrator to join its software engineering/IT team. Our system consists of high transaction OLTP database and high volume data warehouse along with a distributed computing platform in a top hosted environment. Successful candidate must be a self-starter, problem solver and team player.
Responsibilities
¨ Systems and network administration for EcoFactor SaaS system in a hosted environment
¨ Adopt industry standards technologies for a 24x7 high availability networking environment
¨ Support high-volume high-transaction OLTP databases and data warehouses
¨ Help manage clustered databases with fail-over configurations
¨ Support a large-scale distributed computing platform
¨ Adopt best practice security measures including VPN, PKCS
¨ Establish and manage industry standards backup & recovery processes
Requirements
¨ 5+ yrs industry experience as a senior systems administrator
¨ Hands-on experience in:
o Managing large-scale SaaS platform
o Linux OS and kernel performance tuning
o Monitoring tools such as Nagios
o Firewall and server hardening
o VPN products such as OpenVPN
o Data center operations
¨ Experience in the following desired:
o Apache httpd, Tomcat, JBoss
o Networking using Cisco products
o Server colocation
o Database administration
¨ Experience in distributed computing technology such as Hadoop a plus
¨ Working knowledge in networking protocols and firewalls
¨ Local (SF Bay) candidate
