As the largest crystalline silicon photovoltaic solar module manufacturer in the world, Suntech is a rapidly growing organization. We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manager of Business Planning to join our San Francisco, California headquarters.
The Senior Manager of Business Planning will report to the Regional Controller and will play a significant role in taking the organization to higher standards of performance. The individual will be a key person and an integral part of the financial and strategic planning process. This role will be responsible for preparing short-range and long-range financial projections and annual budgets, and providing financial analysis and key decision support to functional organizations spanning the Suntech Americas region.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
► Perform due diligence of sales forecast and revenue targets in detail levels, assist Sales with gap closure plan
► Serve as a business partner by analyzing financial and operational impact of key product decisions, critical marketing initiatives, and business performance across multiple functions, including supply chain / inventory management
► Assess key financial estimates such as for customer programs as well as analysis of new market segments and geographic expansion activities
► Monitor sales and revenue target on daily/weekly basis and periodic review of operating expenses
► Develop detailed business models to support planning, performance measurement and decision support
► Provide monthly reporting and analysis of budget variances and key performance indicators
► Produce long and short term financial plans/budgets and updated forecasts, ensuring strong linkage between US and Corporate operational strategies
► Review and advise on revenue recognition on new customer contracts
► Able to perform technical accounting research and document accounting positions
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
► Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required and an MBA is preferred
► 7+ years of progressive experience in financial/budget planning, business analysis and/or business case preparation
► Big 4 public accounting experience and a CPA, a plus
► Significant experience with developing financial and operational models to support business planning, key strategic activity, and major business initiatives
► Experience serving in a publicly traded company with $400+ million revenues
► Excellent communication both in writing and presentation
► Advanced knowledge of Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
► High comfort level with utilizing financial applications to enhance and automate reporting and analysis
► Experience with SAP or Oracle and Hyperion is preferred
► Significant experience in presenting and communicating to key business owners and senior management
