As the largest crystalline silicon photovoltaic solar module manufacturer in the world, Suntech is a rapidly growing organization. We have an exciting opportunity for an Director of Credit and Treasurer to work in our San Francisco, California headquarters.

The Director of Credit and Treasurer is a key member of the finance team for Suntech America. The individual will be responsible for overseeing the overall credit risk management function, assessment, analysis and mitigation of business risks pertaining to accounts receivable for Suntech America. In addition this person will manage various aspects of finance related to cash management, banking, and other corporate finance matters. Will be working closely with Regional CFO as well as corporate headquarters.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

► Develop and refine credit, risk management and collections policies and procedures
► Creates and approves systems, procedures and policies for credit analysis, approval, and collections
► Assess prospective customer applications, credit and financial information to determine credit worthiness. Negotiate payment terms and credit limits. Negotiates contracts with dealers and value added re-sellers
► Develop non-typical complex credit structures creatively mitigating risks
► Utilize various forms of credit enhancements or support (guarantees, liens, UCC filings, collateral, credit insurance, insurance claims, tax incentives, letters-of-credit, etc) and work with legal to effectively document agreements
► Reviews and interpret financial reports. Review metrics for regional and Headquarters activity on DSO, AR aging, bad debt reserve, status of collections, aggregate credit risk, operating metrics and unapplied cash
► Assess and analyze receivables balances and agings - determine problem accounts and direct resolution activities. Approve customer payment plans to facilitate payment of outstanding receivables
► Provide oversight and engage in periodic reviews of credit portfolio and customers. Adjust credit limits as appropriate
► Routinely interact with customers and develop relationships to better understand the customer and develop assessments of credit risk
► Develop relationships with Sales, Customer Service, Legal and other departments to enhance the Credit and Collections function and provide transparency into our processes
Manage banking relationships and bank account activity. Assess banking needs, including credit and trade and documentary letters of credit
► Hire, manage, develop and evaluate a staff to ensure efficient operation of the credit and treasury function

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

► Expert knowledge of credit underwriting, portfolio and risk management tools and concepts
► Excellent verbal and written communication skills; customer service skills; team interaction/effectiveness; decision-making skills and multi-tasking ability
► Knowledge of construction financing, project finance, tax equity structures, solar incentive programs, rebates, and tax credits
► Advanced in modeling techniques using Excel

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

► Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business or a related field, Masters Degree preferred
► 15+ years of related risk management and credit work experience
► Knowledge of and a minimum of 5 to 8 years commercial banking processes and procedures experience
