As the largest crystalline silicon photovoltaic solar module manufacturer in the world, Suntech is a rapidly growing organization. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our San Francisco, California headquarters.
The Senior Accountant at Suntech America will face an opportunity to be exposed to the various functions of finance at an early state of his/her career with the Company. We are looking for a strong candidate who demonstrates initiative and technical competence to handle duties related to the month-end closing, quarterly review and annual audit, financial reporting, analyses and budgeting. We are looking for an individual whose philosophy is things can always be improved.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
► Primarily work with the senior manager in executing the month-end close and processing cycles (expense / revenues) of a multi-entity company. This covers the full balance sheet (BS) and profit & loss (P&L) statements
► Prepare GAAP monthly reporting and management reporting, including budget versus actuals analyses, explanation of key trends and drivers
► Perform the cost allocations of a multi-department/entity structure
► Assist in the preparation and update of various tax and compliance filings
► Handle audit requests and resolution of items
► Able to prepare / maintain process documentation, such as for SOX compliance and implementation of process improvements
► Assist in third party and internal inquiries as it relates to financial operations
► Ad hoc finance or operational support projects, as needed
► Assist other Finance team members, as needed
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
► Degree in Accounting or Finance with combination of 4 to 6 years of public accounting and corporate accounting experience. Big 4 public accounting experience is a plus
► Experience in industry handling the accounting close of the full P&L, BS and preparation of cash flows
► Exposure handling the accounting cycles related to logistics, inventory management, distribution and construction accounting is preferred
► Working experience with SAP or any other major ERP
► Strong reconciliation skills and advanced knowledge of excel
► Have been involved in SOX implementation and process improvement projects as it relates to the sales, inventory and expense cycles is a plus
► Able to perform technical accounting research and document accounting positions is a plus
