The Pre-Sales Specialist (PSS) develops and grows revenue from the corporate markets product lines that meets or exceeds sales goals. The PSS partners with Global Account Managers to service key global accounts. The primary responsibility is to be the product technical expert for sales calls involving corporate markets products. Typically, PSSs work with 4-5 Global Account Managers and/or Strategic Account Managers. Sales cycles run from 3-12 months with an average of 6-7 months. PSS activities include learning and staying informed on the complex and comprehensive CCH product line; providing expertise to the sales process to improve CCH market share and meet sales goals; providing exceptional customer service that maintains or increases customer satisfaction; contributing to effective sales reporting; participating in the development and execution of annual business plans; managing time and resources effectively; maintaining performance standards while working remotely; and representing Wolters Kluwer within the industry and territory.
Specific responsibilities and requirements are as follows:
Develops and maintains expert knowledge of full line of CCH products including features, benefits, pricing, intended use, value proposition and competitive position in order to effectively serve clients.
Provides expertise to the sales process to improve CCH market share and meet sales goals.
Provides exceptional customer service that maintains or increases current customer satisfaction levels.
Contributes to effect sales reporting.
Participates in the development and execution of the Business Development Plan (BDP) and Business
Unit (BU) strategic planning activities.
Manages time and resources effectively to accomplish sales goals.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in business-related field or equivalent OR, if no degree, 14 years software
sales/pre-sales experience.
Minimum Experience:
10 years software sales/pre-sales experience, including:
• 3 years corporate tax experience.
• Utilizing comprehensive understanding of corporate tax workflow to serve clients.
• Utilizing highly developed communication and negotiation skills, including both excellent verbal skills and the ability to develop and deliver Executive level summaries, reports, and
presentations.
• Utilizing web/live meeting.
• Building and managing customer relationships.
• Conducting business development activities over the phone.
• Managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Developing timely and accurate sales reports.
• Working independently with minimal oversight.
• Working in a team environment with shared sales goals.
Preferred Requirements:
• MBA
• CPA
• 5 years corporate tax experience.
• Selling to professionals, director level or above.
• Selling a complex product requiring in-depth knowledge of the client's business and the products functionality.
• Global, multi-currency, selling.
• Demonstrated ability to learn a complex product line quickly through self-initiative and discipline.
• Earning majority of total compensation in commissions.
• Experience with high end ERPs (e.g., SAP or Oracle).
• Integrating solutions with SAP or Oracle.
• High level understanding of SAP and Oracle.
• CRM experience.
