Description:
The Sr. Manager Payroll- HR Shared Service Center drives operational excellence and provides business guidance to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of payroll, federal and state tax reporting, and time keeping for Client North America Pharma and Diagnostics as part of the HR Shared Service organization. This position is responsible for process ownership including leading the planning, development, implementation and administration for Payroll, Tax Reporting, System Efficiency Enhancements and Timekeeping. This role requires significant interactions with HR Business Partners, Employment Lawyers, senior business leaders, external vendors and various other internal stakeholders both locally and globally to understand stakeholder needs, optimize processes, align and harmonize system requirements and processes and drive required change management.
Responsibilities include a developing and implementing strategies for given processes, advising company management in HR policy and program matters, making or recommending appropriate decisions; contributing and achieving results through the management of supervisors and/or subordinates, and establishing and managing the department's budget and all assigned resources; directing staff and leading payroll system projects from a system and functional perspective ensuring they are delivered on schedule, and are accountable for accurate, efficient and maintainable results that meet business requirements; analyzing current operational procedures and practices, identifying inefficiencies, problems, system enhancement and modification needs and designing and/or partnering with IT to implement solutions - setting priorities, establishing security requirements and directing activities.
Qualifications include:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources or related field
• 8+ years payroll experience in ERP HR System
• Financial systems knowledge and a solid understanding of payroll, payroll taxes and accounting are required.
• 3 + years experience as an expert user of in-house HR/Payroll information systems.
• 5+ years of experience in a multi-state, multi-corporation payroll environment.
• Prior leadership experience with direct people leadership responsibility
• Strong business acumen, process development and project management skills
• Demonstrated excellence in customer relations and building partnerships and managing stakeholders at all levels within an organization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability in prioritizing multiple projects
• Knowledge of related federal / state / local laws and regulations
Preferred:
• SAP HR System experience
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
• Strong negotiation skills working in a global environment
• Experience servicing multiple sites in shared service environment
