We are looking for a Business Development Manager with a passion for deal-making to join our team and revolutionize the way our company distributes products.
Primary Responsibilities
• Business-to-business solution-oriented selling of prepaid card (and ancillary product) solutions through various distribution channels
• Prospect for distribution opportunities in proven distribution channels (retail, tax preparer, etc.)
• Develop and execute customized partnership approaches to increase sales volume and market share
• Create new sales and revenue generating opportunities as appropriate including potential ancillary products
• Expand existing relationships/partnerships through the selling of our products and services
• Utilize a consultative sales approach that ensures that the client's business objectives and performance metrics are maximized
• Prepare proposals and negotiate contractual relationships for accepting and deploying products and services
• Continuously review client/merchant landscape and recommend, develop, and implement new and creative approaches to growing the business
• Assist marketing and product development in launching new products or expanding the penetration of existing products within current and new accounts
• Ensure implementation of annual goals and plans
• Foster productive relationships at all levels with the client and the organization
• Drive tracking and follow-up of potential partnerships through all phases of the sales cycle
• Analyze and carefully monitor on an ongoing basis market trends, activities and competitor actions to enable the team to develop and implement pre-emptive strategies and plans for new and existing partners
Qualifications:
• BS or BA Degree required
• 5+ years of work experience in business development, corporate development or related fields that involve identifying new opportunities to grow product or service revenues
• 2+ years of experience in Financial Services – Prepaid Industry experience preferred
• Ability to negotiate business agreements and enhance existing and new relationships.
• A demonstrated understanding of financial indicators to measure business performance and an ability to summarize business and financial data in a useful manner for planning and decision making
• Prefer established relationships/Rolodex within one or more targeted categories. Categories Prepaid, Payroll, Load Networks, etc.
• Demonstrated track record of planning, managing and closing a complex, competitive sales effort. Proven outside or field sales experience with a track record of hitting or exceeding sales goals
• Ability to self-source own leads through a combination of cold-calling and networking
• Ability to manage strategic partner, channel or indirect sales deal from lead to close
• A passion and a background for winning; you are highly entrepreneurial, high energy and know how to attain results
• Experience in a high performance organization a plus (consulting, investment banking or a corporate development/strategy position in a company)
• Must have relentless focus on delivering outcomes that grow the business, build strong partnerships and get things done
• Proven project management abilities, with examples of successful completion of complex projects/integrations
• Strong financial modeling and analysis skills
• Strategic Thinking: You are comfortable with ambiguity, interest in evaluating outside companies and market trends to develop and communicate inorganic strategies, passion for thinking through "what´s next"
• Adept at working under pressure and handling multiple tasks simultaneously
• Internally motivated self-starter with ability to plan, organize and establish priorities to meet goals and achieve results
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and a polished presenter
