The Online Analyst plays an integral role in delivering online advertising campaign insights by working alongside the Marketing, Creative and Development teams to provide tracking reports, post-campaign analysis and reconciliation, stewardship and general maintenance of interactive advertising campaigns. This position holds significant strategic value to our teams and requires not only a quantitative data analysis skill set but also strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Aggregates data for interactive advertising campaigns, presents findings in designated templates and prepares preliminary performance evaluations and recommendations for media optimization.
• Model data set and validate output; Analyze performance metrics and evaluate using historical and industry-vertical benchmarks, creative optimization, pacing against delivery, rich media performance.
• Maintains reporting schedules for weekly and bi-weekly dashboards and provides prompt and accurate responses to ad-hoc requests.
• Reporting is focused on providing a holistic view and yielding insights.
• Disseminates information to marketing, and creative departments regarding performance and ROI.
• Verifies all media placements are running and being tracked by a 3rd party ad server and monitor delivery levels for placements through pacing reports.
• Supports the trafficking of ad units and search engine management when necessary.
• Provides general daily stewardship of all interactive advertising campaigns.
• Develop predictive models and goals to guide performance expectations and model outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications:
• 4 year college degree
• Use and understanding of enterprise web analytic systems (Omniture, Google Analytics, WebTrends, Coremetrics) and corresponding advertising systems (DART/DoubleClick, Atlas, Mediaplex)
• Advanced understanding of web analytics tools – pathing, tracking code retrieval for marketing programs (ala SAINT), best practices for implementation
• Advanced use of Excel (pivot tables, charts and graphs, macros, formulas and functions (LOOKUPS), filtering)
• Use of SQL and Access
• Basic HTML and CSS
• Expertise in gathering qualitative and quantitative data, developing reports
• Strong analytical skills and business acumen are a must along with the ability to be detail- and deadline-oriented while managing multiple projects
• Analysis within the social graph and conversation monitoring/buzz measurement
• Understanding of intermediate statistics as it applies to brand studies and regression/cluster analysis
• Familiarity with multi-attribution technologies (DART's E2C, Atlas, Visual IQ) and conversion lag a plus
