Responsibilities

Position Overview
Are you ready to play a major role in taking Norton business to the next level and capture on opportunities beyond PC security? Are you ready to create go-to-market strategies along with the processes and tools to ensure global launch success globally? That's what we're looking for in the Norton consumer business at Symantec. As a category marketing manager, you'll lead our efforts to help the world understand how Norton is the best choice in their digital lives in protecting them while enjoying all the best that technology offers.

This position works closely with the Product Management, Engineering, Brand Marketing, PR, Pricing, eCommerce, Supply Chain, Marketing Communications, and Sales teams and will therefore require strong entrepreneurship, consensus building, analytical and marketing skills.

Responsibilities:
• Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates Norton in the market
• Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of Norton product(s) to internal regional marketing and sales teams and develop the tools that support the product launch.
• Go-to-market strategy – Develop and cross-functionally execute global launch plans, routes-to-market strategies to drive demand (e.g., channel selection, prioritization, portfolio strategy for each channel, etc.), and product end-of-life planning
• Market intelligence – be the expert on consumer through secondary and primary consumer research; be the expert on overall category and competition
• Market delivery and preparation – work with the product team and the cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth cross-channel delivery of product globally including retail, online, and via partners.
• Global team collaboration – train and collaborate on vision, roadmap, and launches of products globally with the Regional Product Marketing Management team. Requires analysis and strategic focus for major markets across the globe.


Qualifications

• Minimum five-plus years consumer goods experience (CPG, CE or FMCG ); at least three years as a brand line manager, category manager, or category marketer; understanding of web demand programs
• New product launch experience required; new category launch experience preferred
• Must have direct experience leading the marketing for consumer goods brand, line or category with annual sales of $100M or greater
• Knowledge of high tech (hardware, software, hosting) product development process a plus
• Strong drive for results and ability to lead cross functional teams to launch new products that require new processes and thinking beyond what they are use to
• Proven ability to develop global strategies and help localize regionally required
• Proven experience in developing successful category strategies that leverage multiple products under multiple brands
• Strategic thinker with strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Proven ability to evaluate competitive situations and develop effective competitive strategies to win categories and markets
• Undergraduate degree required, MBA preferred
• Outstanding written, verbal and presentation communication skills; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executives, managers, partners, customers and media
• Must possess strong cross-functional teaming abilities and proven track record of success in a matrixed environment
