Job Description
As a Designer/Motion Artist for a short term project, your role will be to…
Quickly produce movies. We have a tight deadline and many scenario movies to produce.
Demonstrate graphic user interfaces (GUIs) for various displays (mobile, TV, tablet and more) in a movie format. Demonstrable motion graphic design experience is a must.
Create stories that accurately depict situations in which new technology will be used. Storyboarding and drawing skills are a must. We don't need hyper-realism, but we need clear and quick visual communication.
Translate those stories into animations or videos. This could range from quick & dirty to fully refined production quality. They will be used not only for our final deliverables but also during the development process.
Visualize those GUIs in action. We need your expertise with Adobe products to create multiple movies for this project.
Communicate design rationale to the team and beyond. Since we are part of the User Experience Center, usability is a huge part of everything we do. Design decisions should be supported by a solid understanding of usability and/or user research. We're looking for someone who shares our philosophy about user-centered design.
Skill set…
o 5+ years of work experience doing design and motion graphics work.
o A formal education in design.
o Time-management and prioritization skills. You'll be working on a tight deadline.
o Meticulous attention to detail.
o A self-starter and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
o Work with all team members including interaction designers, business strategist, industry analyst, and user researcher.
o Expert with the main Adobe Suite programs (Ps, Ai, Ae, Fl) and motion graphic applications. Expert with Macintosh platform.
Timeline and staff…
o One person creating scenario movies starting ASAP to - Friday, August 26.
o Two people creating scenario movies starting Monday, Sept 12 - Friday, October 28.
