Sr. Front End Engineer
We are looking for a Front-End Software Engineer with a balance of technical and creative skills to join
our Engineering team. Our ideal candidate possesses strong fundamental CS knowledge (data structures, algorithms), and has a true passion for user interface development. More importantly, we need someone with a demonstrated ability to understand both the possibilities and constraints of web applications + large data problems. The successful candidate will have artistic sensibilities, User Experience design, graphic design skills with software like PhotoShop or Illustrator.
Specific Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Engineering to create brilliant front-end components for MarkLogic products
Work closely with UX, Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing to translate aesthetic visions into successful interactive browser-based applications
Qualifications:
5+ years experience with the full software lifecycle of browser-based applications
Expertise with JavaScript and JavaScript libraries, particularly jQuery
Experience with CSS, HTML editing, and comprehension of end-to-end web architecture – including REST, URIs, and common data formats
Demonstrated hands on experience developing commercial or open source products
Working knowledge of XML, HTML, JSON
Experience working on a team within a defined development methodology
Ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external communities
Bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent work experience is acceptable
Experience with JavaScript charting and visualization libraries is ideal
Experience with automated testing of browser applications, such as Selenium, is desirable
Experience founding a new project and taking it to completion or successful launch is a plus
