The following duties and responsibilities reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.
1. Maintain confidentiality of patient, employee and company information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and Spectra Laboratories policies.
2. Must be able to perform all job responsibilities of a Billing Rep II.
3. Reconcile Spectra East's Reference monthly invoice and ensure charges are billed accurately and
timely, as well as provide a monthly accrual report to management.
4. Manage the preparation of invoices and complete reconciliation of billing with accounts
receivables.
5. Gather support data to ensure invoice accuracy.
6. Work through specific billing discrepancies.
7. Generate a microbiology report weekly and manually enter charges for all Microbiology tests within a month of final reporting.
8. Manually rebill orders as needed within a week of request.
9. Perform all other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Six years of billing experience, with an emphasis in the healthcare field.
Must be able to multi-task prioritize and manage time efficiently.
Must have a current knowledge of third-party payer reimbursements.
Must be able to work in a high pressure environment in a team structure as well as independently.
Advanced knowledge of basic software applications, including but not limited to, Word and Excel is required.
Must be detail oriented and an optimistic problem solver with the ability to follow up on requests/tasks independently.
Must be dependable and reliable and customer result driven.
Professional phone etiquette and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
