Create Core transport designs to support mission critical relief to IUB
congestion and ensure network capacity growth to reduce churn and meet
market demand.
Job Description:
(What will the NPW do on that project?)
• Create Granite path designs in support of RNCs, BSCs, Transcoders, MSCs,
Voice mail, E911, SS7 links, and CORE GIGE paths for ETTCS to and from
Routers.
• Utilize Granite Works (GW), NORDIS, CTS, and IWOS workflow ticketing
systems to build Granite PSTN, IMT, Neutral Tandem Trunk, and E911 Trunk
paths in Granite Client with a focus on XA Core and ATCA MGW switches.
• Coordinate active DS1 and DS3 facility
• Rehomes in support of various migrations from diverse carriers in support
of cost savings initiatives.
• Create Cutsheets for Operations facilitating network changes at a glance
• Add, decommission, or modify Granite Paths to comply with better than 99%
accuracy. ?Participate on necessary market calls to provide work order
status.
• Strategize effectively with support groups such Interconnect, Transport,
Planning, Equipment Engineering, and Operations.
Skill Set:
• Thorough understanding of the GSM and UMTS architecture.
• Proficient with Granite Path design or Granite Guru.
• In depth interconnectivity and functionality understanding of MSCs, BSCs,
TRAU, MGWs, ATCA, MSN, SGSN, VM, E911, and SS7.
• Ability to recognize urgent designs requests, when to expedite or escalate
to higher level.
• Skillful manipulating large databases in Excel and proficient with
Microsoft Visio, Powerpoint, Word, and Outlook.
• CCNA certificate or comparable knowledge.
