JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our Sr.Technical Project Managers are part of our Professional Services team and work directly with Silver Tail's largest and most strategic clients to deliver solutions. As a STPM, you will lead and manage the deployment and integration of Silver Tail products into customers' web system environments.

Silver Tail Systems is looking for an experienced Sr. Technical Project Manager with substantial experience leading technical software implementation teams in complex IT environments. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that the Silver Tail product suite is correctly deployed and fully functional for use by our customers by managing projects and interdisciplinary project teams during the deployment of Silver Tail products. Project teams include both customer IT staff and Silver Tail professional services staff. This role spans from early in the sales process and continues on through full implementation.

The Sr. Technical Project Manager is expected to provide strong technical oversight and guidance to the Systems Engineers and is expected to personally oversee deployments and assist in problem resolution. A true talent for multi-tasking is essential as you will be managing several projects at one time and will be accountable to the sales organization, the Professional Services organization and the customer. .

The Sr. Technical Project Manager will contribute to the development of standardized processes and best practices to ensure continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of the deployment process.

Silver Tail's customers are distributed around the world, so in addition to some travel, this will position will require the ability to deliver technical solutions to a remote and distributed team. This position reports directly to the Vice President of the Professional Services organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Sr. Technical Project Manager will:

Work closely with the sales, support and customer organizations to support pre-and post sales customers to ensure successful deployment of the SilverTail products

Involvement in full customer life-cycle, from pre-sales, through implementation to post-implementation support

Interact with sales team and the customer during the pre-sales cycle to provide implementation scope and estimates, create proposals and Statements of Work, and conduct trials.

Own customer implementation projects, including providing full project management, creation and maintenance of implementation documentation and tracking timelines and deliverables.

Perform basic technical implementation tasks, such as customer configuration updates

Provide expert technical issue resolution skills and oversight during all phases of the project

Work closely with Account Management, Sales, Engineering, Product Development and Customer Care to resolve issues that arise during customer trials or integrations.

Identify new product features and additional sales opportunities during trials and integrations and communicate to product development and engineering teams.

Coordinate resources, both internal and external

Participate in internal projects.

Able to travel easily – both in the US and off-shore, up to 50%

QUALIFICATIONS:

A solid understanding of the online or website fraud space, coupled with substantial technical and people skills will be essential for success in this role.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field.

Minimum 3 years project lead experience with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects for Fortune 500 customers; experience working on and managing enterprise scale projects.

Minimum 3 years experience in a customer facing environment in the IT industry.

Minimum 3 years IT solution delivery experience within a consulting organization.

Minimum 3 years experience with Internet technologies, thorough understanding of eCommerce, On-line Marketing, Web Analytics or Security.

Minimum 3 years Implementation experience with web delivery services.

Minimum 3 year experience programming and have an understanding of networking, Internet and web site concepts and solutions including data flow, SPAN ports, HTTP/S, DNS, firewall/security concepts, configuration design, maintenance, and administration

Desired Qualifications

Masters Degree in MIS/CS a plus.

PMP or Big 5 experience a plus.

Demonstrated project management and team leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills

Working knowledge of the full software development technologies including J2EE/Java, .NET, open source tools and various component models (CORBA, COM, Java Beans).

Experience developing and driving Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) strategies within large enterprises.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to independently represent the company to customers

Must be enthusiastic, action oriented, capable of independently solving complex technical problems and able to communicate clearly and effectively to both technical and business audiences.
