Sr. Software Engineer (Java Middleware / Front End Development) (Local Candidates Please)

Description

EcoFactor is seeking a MiddleTier Frontend/Java Software Engineer to join its software engineering team. Our robust SaaS system constitutes a wide range of components from Web portals, distributed device management modules to database-centric backend applications. Successful candidate must be a self-starter, problem solver and team player.

Responsibilities

Develop Web portals and tools using contemporary Web 2.0 technologies

Build Java-based applications using JSP/Servlet and applicable MVC/portal frameworks

Adopt best-practice technologies in UI for performance and usability

Documentation of UI/navigational flow and relevant application logic

Work with backend software engineers to ensure effective API/data access required by the UI functions

Work with product development staff to help translate functionality requirements to implementable specifications

Work with customer support staff to help resolve usability issues
Skills
BSCS with 4+ years of experience developing contemporary complex middleware/Web UI applications

Deep experience with Javascript, AJAX, HTML, CSS, as used in the construction of rich, dynamic websites

Experience building websites with one or more Java Web UI frameworks such as JSF, Struts, jQuery, Tapestry, Ext JS, Wicket, Dojo, YUI, GWT

Hands-on experience in the following:

UI/Portal applications on Java platform

JSP/Servlet and Object Oriented Programming

Java-based Frameworks such as Spring

HTML/CSS/XML/JSON

AJAX/Javascript

Knowledge in the following areas desired: Nice to have

UI applications on mobile devices (e.g. iPhone)

BI reporting software such as BIRT or JasperSoft a plus
