Sr Quantitative Analyst (Local Candidates Please) strong skills in statistics, datamining, or machine learning are highly desired for this role

Description

EcoFactor is seeking an experienced Quantitative Analyst to join its technology team. Our SaaS platform consists of patent-pending algorithms that analyze data from a large-scale data warehouse and optimize energy efficiency strategies for individual customers. Successful candidate must be a self-starter, problem solver and team player.

Responsibilities

Develop algorithms to optimize complex and personalized energy efficiency strategies
Derive software solutions using contemporary computing languages with appropriate mathematics libraries or packages
Mine and analyze large-scale data to establish a data warehouse for business intelligence analytics and reporting
Build and refine models of thermal systems using mathematical modeling methods and tools
Work collaboratively with software engineers to provide functionality requirements for integrating analytics modules with the SaaS system
Serve as a technical advisor to product development staff on product features related to algorithms and analytics
Requirements

Expertise in a wide range of numerical methods, including pattern recognition and machine learning
PhD in statistics, applied mathematics, physics, operations research, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field (or MS with equivalent experience) 4+ years of experience is desired
Expertise in processing and analysis of large datasets using contemporary tools and methodologies
Experience in object-oriented programming (such as Java, Python) is a definite plus for this role
Proficiency with databases, data warehousing and data mining
Proficiency with statistical software (such as R, S-plus)

Desirable (but not required)
Experience in building's thermal modeling and simulation (such as Matlab)

Experience in managing complex R&D projects

Working knowledge of distributed computing technology (such as Hadoop)

Knowledge of HVAC mechanics
