In this position, the individual will be responsible for providing on-site support for drive handling and ESD training at Contract Manufacturer locations; periodic reports to the customer, CM, and SanDisk summarizing production volumes, vendor-chargeable defects, process-induced defects, and CND/NTF incidents; and providing direct support to customer and CM Supplier Quality Engineers for any integration-related issues and activities. The individual will manage SanDisk outside contractors providing integration support at customer manufacturing sites, and provide direct support as necessary at US-based CM's. The individual will serve as the SanDisk focal point for product quality and reliability issues, monitor customer integration failures for new failure modes and increasing failure trends, alerting SanDisk management to any out-of-goal conditions, and provide periodic Quality metrics reports to the customer in support of their quality reporting requirements (integration DPPM, AFR, etc.). The individual will host periodic quality meetings with the customer, coordinate DPPM/AFR improvement plans, establish trigger points for DPPM and Field AFR metrics, and drive corrective actions and improvement plans for out-of-goal conditions, and drive NTF/CND reduction plans. The individual will prepare 8D reports for drive failures and quality issues, and negotiate with the customer for closure, work with customer and CM teams on continuous quality improvement plans to meet customer quality goals, and identify customer F/A requirements, and monitor failure analysis activities to ensure that F/A turn-around time and 8D content meets customer expectations. The individual will manage stop-ships/stop in feeds through the immediate involvement of SanDisk's Quality and Operations organizations, and ensure criteria for release of stop-ships is understood and communicated throughout SanDisk. Other duties will include assisting with drive recall and drive re-work/re-kitting activities, to minimize product supply interruptions and to minimize scrap, assisting with coordinating, preparing, and presenting quality-related QBR scorecard responses, and generate and follow up on resulting action items and improvement plans, and providing customer audit support to SanDisk's Contract Manufacturers.
This position requires a B.S.E.E. minimum, with M.S.E.E preferred. Direct enterprise-level customer support experience required. Minimum of 10 years experience in HDD or SSD failure analysis, and drive qualification or integration support. Experience with SAS or other serial interfaces required. Experience required with quality and reliability concepts such as MTBF, AFR, FIT, and DPPM. Statistical analysis experience required. Excellent customer-interface, communication, and negotiation skills required.
