The Director of Business Development, Automotive will have primary responsibility for driving end-to-end partner relationships and business development efforts into leading infotainment providers in the automotive industry. You will leverage TuneIn´s long-standing business with automobile manufacturers to make TuneIn the go-to vendor for innovation. This position is based either in Palo Alto, CA or Detroit, MI.


Responsibilities:

Establish TuneIn as the default Internet radio guide for services in the automotive industry.
Forge key decision-maker relationships with major automotive manufacturers.
Identify and present TuneIn to new prospects within tier 1 and tier 2 automotive OEMs.
Promote TuneIn's services in the infotainment segment by planning for and speaking at major automotive and CE events.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including automotive consortium´s and industry forums as well as aftermarket providers to drive key business results.
Oversee the account maintenance for existing customers and monitor the relationship for any problems or future opportunities.
Develop specific end-to-end sales, integration and solution package to present to manufacturers and suppliers.
Work with PR to create a comprehensive media and marketing plan for the automotive industry.
Cultivate the reputation as an innovative and credible supplier.

Requirements:

5-7 years of sales or account management experience in the automotive industry with a track record of success, preferably in digital media services.
Industry knowledge and a high degree of pre-existing credibility in the automotive marketplace.
Ability to grow and manage a world-wide team of account representatives.
Clear, articulate presentation skills to convey the TuneIn value proposition to partners and the media.
Executive presence, comfortable selling and influencing at all levels.
Results-driven leader, able to motivate self and others to achieve desired goals.
Spend 30% of time traveling between Detroit and Palo Alto.
Experience in business development, specifically in making distribution deals for 3rd party services, software and/or app stores.
Passion for radio.


Nice to have:

Internet radio and/or music industry experience.
Semi-technical background (comprehension of telematic and connectivity solutions)
Language skills.
Legal (contract review) experience.
