Description
The Director of Merchandising is responsible for establishing the merchandising product launch roadmap and driving the day-to-day execution of our merchandising strategy. Tiny Prints has achieved a leading share in the online custom stationery market, and we are looking for the right person to significantly extend our market leadership and ultimately establish Tiny Prints as an iconic design brand in our space. The major objectives of this position are to: (a) Develop merchandising product launch plan and achieve aggressive card growth and ROI targets; (b) Manage merchandising design, merchandising site and internal card design teams; (d) Drive and optimize visual merchandising strategy; (c) Play a lead role in shaping and elevating our brands' design content (e) Provide cross-functional department leadership and initiate process improvements with Marketing, Creative and BU teams.
In addition to managing 3 teams within our merchandising group, the Director of Merchandising will also work closely with our Designer Relations and Content Enablement merchandising teams to ensure successful recruiting, onboarding and retention of designers and timely, error-free card collection launches.
The position reports to the VP of Merchandising. We are seeking a talented, driven Director-level person who strives for excellence and has a history of success. This person must have strong, proven managerial skills with a passion to motivate and mentor a growing team of 15 individuals. This position offers the unique opportunity to make an immediate and substantial impact to the organization. Candidates with significant experience in merchandising/category management at a consumer online company and a design background are strongly preferred.
Requirements:
* MBA from top-tier school is strongly preferred
* Minimum of 10-12 years work experience with at least 3-4 years post-MBA experience in merchandising/category management and 2-3 years as a Sr. Manager level merchant
* Design and technical Adobe Illustrator experience strongly preferred
* Exceptional demonstrated strategic, analytical and problem solving skills required. Ability to generate new insights from various information sources and turn these insights into strategies and executable plans.
* Demonstrated leadership and communication skills. Ability to build effective partnerships across the internal organization at all levels
* Experience related to Cards and Stationery or a love of physical paper products is a big plus
* Driven, self-starter with a passion for excellence and winning
