Marin Software is experiencing significant growth and is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join the Company's growing FP&A team. Reporting directly to the Director of FP&A, the Sr. Financial Analyst will have responsibility for building Marin's financial planning processes and for providing analytical support to help drive the Company's continued growth. Additionally, this person will be responsible for surfacing and presenting key business insights and recommendations to the Finance team and senior leadership. The position will also be actively involved with the Company's total P&L forecasting/reporting processes, monthly close processes and the Company's enterprise planning systems efforts.
The right individual for this role is a proven strategic financial analyst with a passion toward operational excellence, great attention to detail and a proven ability to work with senior leadership. A successful candidate will be able to effectively develop partnerships with individual department heads to understand historical and future spending. The Sr. Financial Analyst position at Marin requires a well-rounded individual who has a demonstrated an ability to deliver results in a fast paced, high growth environment.

Responsibilities
• Partnering with the department leaders to create department level annual expense budgets and quarterly targets, as well as providing coordination for business planning initiatives
• Preparing monthly budget vs. actual variance analyses for various departments
• Working closely with Accounting on the month end and quarter end close processes, including driving the preparation of the monthly close and analytics package
• Partnering with department owners to provide operational analysis and reporting and to drive improvements to operating expense forecasting
• Benchmarking financial performance (internal and external) with comparable companies
• Assist with management of consolidated quarterly/annual plan, as well as long range strategic plan
• Analyzing, synthesizing and translating data into key strategic inputs and insights that will drive strategic decision making within the various organizations
• Assess on-going risks and opportunities and proactively develop action plans to minimize exposure and enhance opportunities
• Performing ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions
• Assist with evaluation and potential implementation of enterprise planning system
• Assist with the management of the monthly sales commission process

Experience & Requirements
• Five to seven years of experience in financial planning and analysis
• B.A. or B.S. in Business, Finance, or Accounting
• Strong interpersonal and team building skills; ability to work with a diverse team and influence/drive change across functional and business boundaries
• Strong FP&A and analytic skills, including superior financial modeling, Excel, and database skills are assumed; Ability to build an integrated financial model is also assumed
• Strong project management, planning, and organization skills, including ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Continuous improvement attitude; ability to seek out and implement internal or external best practices
• Experience with Excel, advanced ERP systems and business planning / business intelligence systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong team work, collaboration, flexibility and pro-activeness
• Commitment to excellence and impeccable ethical standards and integrity
