Department Overview
The Senior Learning & Development Specialist is a member of Symantec´s Leadership and Employee Development team. This individual will use best practices in education to deliver and manage learning interventions necessary to produce measurable performance outcomes. We provide professional skills development for individual contributors, managers, and executives in the soft skills arena. Our strategy for development activities includes classroom, synchronous and asynchronous eLearning, webinars, video-teleconferencing, and social networking.

Responsibilities
Deliver soft skills training adhering to the course objectives.
• Use methods and styles of instruction and facilitation that are appropriate for the audience to enhance the process of learning.
• Perform real-time audience analysis and modify instructional plans to meet audience needs while achieving overall course objectives.
• Facilitate blended learning interventions that involve a combination of delivery methods such as classroom, synchronous and asynchronous e-learning, webinars, video-teleconferencing, and social networking.
• Implement means to effectively assess learner performance.
• Coach nonprofessional presenters to enhance and improve their skill sets.
• Review Level 1 evaluations to identify need for possible course content changes.
• Monitor demand for courses and change frequency of offerings as needed.
• Liaise with department´s Enablement team to ensure the smooth preparation and execution of the courses and solutions.
• Liaise with subject matter experts (SME's) to ensure that course content is up to date

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related degree or commensurate experience.
• 6-8 years of HR experience and 5 + years experience delivering training to a variety of functions and job levels.
• Facilitation experience, particularly in soft skills such as Leadership, Change Management. , Communication, etc.
• Experience delivering face to face training in a classroom setting as well as experience delivering training in a webinar setting.
• Experience in a consultative role, working with a group to determine problems and to provide solutions.
• Some design and development skills would be a plus
• Coaching skills a plus
