VP Product Management and Marketing – Houston, TX

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages an assigned product portfolio and multi-year roadmap by identifying gaps/issues where current products do not meet client requirements; translating customer insight and research into specific action plans (e.g., product enhancement; new products/services); overseeing the development of clear requirements for new product development initiatives; managing client expectations on the timing, delivery and scope of product enhancements; ensuring efforts by CTLS are completed on time and in scope based on specifications; developing and executing marketing strategies (e.g., product pricing, go-to-market strategy); ensuring P&L targets for assigned products are met; ensuring target ROI for marketing and product management initiatives are achieved; and assuming final accountability for the overall success of each assigned product.

• Manages a team of product and marketing professionals by evolving the organizational structure to meet business needs; monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs); analyzing the data for patterns or indications of performance slippage; documenting and discussing performance issues with underperformers early and often; providing additional training and work opportunities to resolve issues; coaching and developing talent for the next generation of functional leaders; working with Talent Acquisition team to fill open positions (e.g., providing information on candidate requirements; be available for interviews; making decisions quickly); facilitating the on-boarding of new team members to shorten learning curves; and regularly meeting with employees to keep them engaged and motivated.

• Learns and maintains knowledge of the full line of CTLS products and services including features, benefits, pricing, intended use, value proposition and competitive position in order to effectively serve clients by engaging in self-directed learning; studying information provided by product management and marketing on an on-going basis, in timely manner; collaborating with Sales and Marketing management and top performers to continuously improve; attending product training sessions; working with products to establish and maintain competence in demonstrating their use; researching and learning how the products/services fit into customer processes and contribute to their business performance; reviewing competitor information to be able to compare and contrast them with CTLS products and services; and understanding business drivers including relationship building, branding and customer needs.

• Represents CTLSs in cross-organizational activities by participating in cross-functional/joint-venture initiatives (e.g., sales, marketing, research); identifying opportunities to collaborate across practice areas or divisions; collaborating with peers to develop and advance company-wide initiatives and strategies; participating as a functional member of WK committees; and serving as a key business leader, thought leader, and role model in CTLS as a whole.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related discipline; OR, if no degree, 10 years of marketing/product management experience.

8 years of marketing/product management experience, including:

• Professional services marketing for small businesses.
• Identifying market segment growth opportunities.
• Leading an entrepreneurial team of product and marketing professionals
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Executing plans on time budget and with quality.
• Planning a product portfolio for a market segment based on facts and market information.
• Interacting with customer in a sales or research setting.
• Identifying customer needs based on direct and indirect sources.
• Building business relationships.
• Creating executive-level content and detailed presentations.
• Working collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Preferred requirements:
Master's Degree in Business Administration.
10 years of marketing/product management experience, including:

• Driving change initiatives.
• Marketing and product management methodologies and activities.
• Ability to manage and lead team.
• P&L responsibility of $25M+.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent Travel (25% annually)
• Ability to work an extended schedule as needed to meet objectives
