Business Development Position for Conference Sales and Sponsorship in Personalized Medicine

Flex-time, Part-Time or Full-Time

Based in Los Altos, my client is a leading provider in Personalized Medicine Conferences. We seek a business development executive who can help build sponsorship, exhibitor and attendee sales for upcoming events and can help grow this organization by identifying new venues, including Europe and possibly the East Coast.

This is a great opportunity to join this highly successful company at the founding level and an opportunity to be in the important and emerging field of Personalized Medicine. This opportunity is ideal for a sales executive who seeks a flex-time opportunity that offers healthcare coverage.

We seek sales executives who are passionate about the life sciences industry. This is a stand-alone position in the organization, as this position is accountable for sales, marketing and business development activities.

Key responsibilities include:
� Conduct sales calls and provide post-sales support for sponsorship, exhibitors , attendees and company competitions
� Respond to sales inquiries and leads for potential business
� Initiate and manage customer-acquisition campaigns via email, social networking and other advertising venues
� Present the value proposition via telephone, customer meetings and the internet
� Create long term business relationships with current and future clients
� Manage and grow a database of accounts
� Provide innovative ideas for improving the conferences and sales processes
� Develop and deliver strategic marketing ideas, work on company positioning, messaging, etc
� Develop and manage business alliances with conference partners
� Help grow the company and expand on their successful business model by establishing new conference venues in Europe and possibly the East Coast

Job Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of sales experience selling services or conference sales

� Life sciences background preferred but not required
� A proven sales track record of earning commissions and bonuses
� Strong relationship building skills and overall comprehension of sales cycle
� Strong phone sales, prospecting, and closing skills
� Proven ability to articulate the service value proposition
� Problem solving skills and ability to work independently
� Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills are required
� Self starter, results driven, motivated, creative, resourceful and with a positive attitude
� Superior customer service skills
� Experience working in a startup environment with limited resources
