Accounting Manager
Intersect ENT, Inc. Recently approved by the FDA, our product is a dissolvable drug-eluting implant that props open the sinus cavity and allows for localized delivery of steroid directly to the sinus mucosa for patients with chronic sinusitis, a condition that affects one out of seven adults in the U.S. For patients, this may mean less invasive treatment options, improved outcomes, and reduced need for systemic drugs which can lead to serious side effects.
We�re looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our rapidly growing company. Reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the company�s accounting and finance functions, including monthly and quarterly financial closes, accounts payable, payroll, inventory, accounts receivable, fixed assets and ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger. An awareness of the laws and regulations impacting financial policies and procedures will aid in shaping and re-defining policies/procedures as the Company grows. This position also plays an integral role in the Company�s annual financial planning process. To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate will be able to work both independently and as part of a team, multi-task and prioritize effectively, manage tight timelines and changing priorities, communicate well at all levels, and must have a proven ability to work under pressure.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
� Supervises the day-to-day accounts payable and payroll functions and reviews month end close entries performed by Staff Accountant
� Implements and regularly maintains cost accounting, invoicing and A/R systems
� Reviews the recording of daily transactions into the general ledger
� Reviews monthly account reconciliations prepared by staff accountant
� Prepares monthly account reconciliations for inventory and invoicing/accounts receivable transactions
� Invoices customers and ensures that receivables are collected in accordance with Company policies.
� Prepares monthly reporting package (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, actual/budget variance analysis and financial statement analysis)
� Assists in budget development, review and rolling forecast updates as required
� Maintains internal controls structure that ensures efficiency, accuracy and honesty, and identifies and resolves accounting control issues.
� Assists with sales commissions tracking
� Assists in the development of forecast tools and metrics
� Drive process improvement and system implementations within Finance
� Interact and lead the relationship with external auditors in the areas of payables, receivables, accrued expenses, fixed assets and inventory
� Maintain capitalization table and record all stock transactions to general ledger
� Reconcile stock grant activity to data base maintained by law firm
� Leads and supports ad hoc projects as required
EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
� Bachelor�s degree in Accounting required, CPA strongly preferred, MBA a plus
� Minimum 6-8 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years at a management level
� Minimum 2 years Cost Accounting experience required -candidates will not be considered without this experience
� Proven experience and knowledge in understanding of financial statements and GAAP
� Work experience with small to medium size companies in Life Sciences industry specifically, strongly preferred
� Experience working with an ERP system (Preferably QAD), experience in ERP implementation a plus
� Excellent MS Excel (including pivot tables and vlookup functions), Word, and Power Point skills
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
� Highly analytical
� Excellent understanding of how operations impact finance
� Experienced in fast paced, results-oriented, hands-on environment
� Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines and to adapt to changing work priorities; strong team-building and collaboration skills across the organization
� Ability to manage highly confidential material in an appropriate manner
� Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills
