SJB Child Development Centers is looking for a professional Director of Development for our growing number of Child Development Centers. Our mission is to provide educational child care for children birth to twelve years of age to strengthen and support families throughout Santa Clara County. Our programs help parents establish financial independence by creating a safe place for their children to learn while they work. We aim to break the cycle of poverty by offering education-based child care. We offer infant, toddler, preschool and before and after school care to the community.
The Development Director is responsible for the development and administration of financial philanthropic programs to maximize fundraising and pledges.
� Develop and implement a philanthropic fundraising plan
� Plan and coordinate foundation and grant seeking activities
� Oversee the submission of foundation, Federal, State, and corporate grants
� Maintain a summary of grant activity
� Develop potential target donor audiences and cultivation strategies.
� Initiate development and cultivate relationships with individuals, civic groups, and potential donors to the organization.
� Plan and conduct CEO lunches, receptions, meetings, tours, and other activities to cultivate donors.
� Manage the volunteer Program.
� Improve the organization�s name recognition within the community
� Establish and administer donor recognition policies
� Direct the public relations & information program
� Prepare promotional and solicitation materials
� Develop newsletters and material for dissemination in the community
� Plan and schedule public relations activities
� Maintain relationships with partner organizations
We require:
� CFRE or equivalent
� Bachelor�s degree in business, marketing or in a relevant field
� 4+ year�s fundraising experience
� Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
� Expert knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards governing government, corporate and individual donations.
� Expert ability to structure innovative funding agreements.
� Current and/or ability to obtain TB Clearance and physical screening
� Active Fingerprint Clearance with DSS/CCL/FBI/DOJ and/or submittal of Fingerprint Cards with signed Criminal Record Statement prior to employment.
� Must possess California Drivers License and meet minimum insurance requirements for personal vehicle and have a driving record which meets the standards set forth in Administrative Regulation 4532 and 4533.
