This open top corporate-wide Director role reports to the Vice-President of Manufacturing. Our client is looking for a well rounded individual who will lead the corporate-wide development and implementation of the company's environmental team, sustainability programs, and occupational safety and health programs.
One of the first responsibilities for the newly created Director of Environmental, Health and Safety will be to combine the Environmental and Sustainability department with the Safety and Security department and make re-organization and structure recommendations for an effective and efficient department.
• Develop strategies, goals, and plans that enable our client to meet their Environmental, Health and Safety commitments and improve internal operations and practices.
• Leverage Operational Excellence to the fullest extent possible to deliver on action plans and tactics associated with strategy implementation and culture.
• Create, develop and maintain a Environmental, Health and Safety Management System for strategically identified areas that effectively track and communicate performance across the business; successfully deliver value-added interventions to keep performance on-track to deliver on goals.
• Collaborate and influence with other leaders and employees to develop the capability and skills needed to execute on plans for delivering on goals and commitments.
• Continually evaluate the current performance and adjust strategies and tactics to maintain or improve performance.
• Communicate and execute Environmental, Health and Safety management strategies/long-term plans to address future trends and risks, and position the organization to a best in class level across these functions.
• Oversee all ongoing activities related to the development and management of the corporate and facility security; including the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
• Plan, coordinate and lead crisis preparedness program, Crisis Management Team and the business continuity plans to ensure ongoing sustainable business and employee safety in times of crisis.
• Direct and manage environmental facilities; including the environmental team and associated budgets. Will also ensure the environmental team remains compliance with SPCCP, SWPPP, NPDES Permitting, Tier II reports, and Form R reports for the entire company.
• Lead a team of 20 direct and indirect reports
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety, Industrial Health, or related field.
• Masters preferred
Experience
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing and supply chain environment preferred
• Food industry experience preferred
