Training/Events Project Specialist at Cisco, San Jose


We are looking for a PROJECT SPECIALIST to coordinate the required elements for the development of training for Cisco's Sales Force as well as the organization of the virtual training events.

This highly demanding role will require a long-term commitment to the project and is ideal for individuals who are extremely well organized, bright and independent self-starters with strong communication and cross functional skills. The position requires a sense of the "big picture" and a level of understanding of the project content and involves collaboration with Virtual Team Managers and communication with field personnel and their management in all theatres (US, Americas, EMEA, APAC).


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate and assist in design, development and planning of the content and logistics for all training events onsite both locally and at domestic and internationally.

Organize, coordinate and participate in all virtual meetings/conference calls for VT Program team. (Schedule calls, cross functional communications, produce Agendas, Minutes, and Action item logs, etc.). Work proactively to anticipate and recognize project issues and escalate when appropriate.

Organize and track Team and Sub-Team Action Assignments. Coordinate regular meetings with team to update CDF Tracker milestones

Create and maintain program agendas, coordinate actions with event contributors and field staff, and monitor and track all milestones.

Support, create, and maintain good communication vehicles to support this cross-functional team – Program Web Site, E-mail, News articles, etc.

Communication, coordination and tracking of all Presentations.

Management of VT program website and its affiliates (my News Clips, SAGE, PEC, etc.)

Organize all logistical aspects, confirm facility requirements, VoD (vProject), and scheduling support for event

Utilize and maintain VT Program Tools to support Physical Meeting: Email aliases, WebEx, iPlatform Survey Tool, Spreadsheet Templates, Mailer, MOSES, Websites, SEVT Server File Repository, etc.


SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Project management and/or event management experience within a high-tech company and the ability to work well cross functionally with global teams at all levels. Superior verbal and written skills.

Experience within the Sales Training and Development, Human Resources, Corporate Training or Organization Development areas a plus.

Expert level knowledge of MS Office suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Have a passion for excellence and take a high degree of ownership in their role on the team.

Must exercise self initiative, judgment and decision making ability to complete all tasks and meet deadlines.

Strong project planning and implementation skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize and to work independently as well as within a team environment. Able to easily change priorities and direction as the need arises.

Self-driven, highly motivated and familiar working effectively in a fast-paced, extremely dynamic environment and be able to deal with issues that arise "on the fly".

Provide flexible work hours due to attending conference calls/meetings to accommodate various global time zones. Must be very comfortable in a virtual environment.


EDUCATION: Baccalaureate degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of Project Management or Event Planning experience preferably within a high-tech company. Experience within the Sales Training and Development, Human Resources, Corporate Training or Organization Development areas a plus.

MUST HAVE:
Expert level knowledge of MS Office suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, One Note and Dreamweaver.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Must exercise self initiative, judgment and decision making ability to select methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to the moderate complex work. Must be able to work independently, with little to no instruction on routine work, but receives general instruction on new assignments. Must have strong project planning and implementation skills. Must be able to exercise judgment, independence and initiative to complete all tasks and meet deadlines.

Location: Remote, SJ Bay Area; must be able to work on-site if necessary
