client is in Cincinnati, Ohio for a SAP Basis Portal Administrator. The SAP Basis Portal Administrator is responsible for setting up, maintaining operation, and working across teams to assist with and troubleshoot issues regarding the SAP Java based Enterprise Portal landscape. They are also responsible for assisting with the operation and integration of these systems with the current landscape, as well as having ownership of the job scheduling and design for all environments to meet the business needs of the client. The SAP Basis Administrator will need to have a deep knowledge SAP Java.
Responsibilities include: - Coordinate Enterprise Portal based activities - Implement new SAP environments as required - Coordinate across teams based in the US and India to schedule required maintenance outages and recommended tuning and changes to the environment as appropriate - Work with India based counterpart to ensure timely and coordinated handoff of work and projects to ensure timelines are met - Estimate effort required for requested enhancements of the Portal - Work with Client Security and BASIS resources security requirements met, including PCI DSS - Maintain and execute Disaster Recovery plan for applications in area of responsibility - Identify areas for improvements in processes and system utilization. Drive/lead implementation of such efforts to allow better team utilization and client visibility to work efforts - Responsible for Tier 2 & 3 Basis Administration support - Responsible for meeting SLAs - Work with and coordinate efforts between a team of US and India team support resources - Participate in the on-call and maintenance window rotation - Use skill set to design, build, and test effective solutions to application and/or process defects - Work effectively across both technical and functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve tickets - Collaborate directly with client team members on technical architecture decisions, day-to-day operational support, issue resolution & escalation - Develop, coach, and train other team members - Be a role model to others in the team (quality of solutions, customer focus, continuous improvements, etc.) - Support/sponsor work/life balance - Monitor client satisfaction and escalate potential issues to management, if necessary - Ensure all service requests are managed and completed according to SLAs Basic Qualifications: 2-5 years experience in SAP Basis Administration Minimum of 2 years of RDBMS Management 2+ years of Operating System / knowledge of system commands and structures Additional Preferred Skills - 2 years of support of SAP Java based application 1. Enterprise Portal, GRC, XI, or other Java based SAP applications. - Installation / Configuration of SAP Portal instance - Implementation and Administration of SAP Business Packages - Knowledge in NWDI and NWDS along with CTS+ configuration. - Performance tuning of J2EE system Technical Skills Understanding of VM, ESX, and virtualized environments Deep understanding and experience in back-up, recovery Experience supporting interfaces Performance Tuning Experience Understanding of ECC and Portal integration Technical Architecture and Planning Experience Project planning / major contributor to or owner of a project plan Process improvement / including documenting and implementation of processes Disaster Recovery planning/testing Build specialized technical skills Basic Qualifications: - 5-6 years experience in SAP Basis Administration - Minimum of 3 years experience supporting complex business critical Production systems - Minimum of 2 years experience supporting Java based SAP Netweaver Enterprise Portal - Minimum of 2 years experience supporting applications in a Unix-base environment - Minimum of 2 years experience with performance tuning of J2EE system - Minimum of 2 years experience with Oracle database management
