Summary
As a patent agent, you will join the IP team to help protect and grow the patent portfolio of a major global corporation. You will work with internal inventors/engineers in evaluations of invention disclosures. Outside counsel is responsible for the prosecution of patent applications but you will work with outside counsel as needed.
This is a temporary to permanent position.

- Collaborate with internal inventors/engineers in invention disclosures, and work with outside counsel
- Review patent application drafts as well as responses to Office Actions provided by outside counsel
- Coordinate internally as well as with outside counsel on efficient and effective prosecution
- Partner with engineers and project managers to mine and evaluate ideas for new patent applications
- Conduct patentability analysis, perform prior art searches and assist managers to research the patent landscape
- Assist with export compliance
- Enter data accurately into docketing system and run basic reports
Necessary Skills /
Attributes
- BS degree in EE/CS/ID or related field
- Ability to understand and build on a wide range of technical areas
- Eligible to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
- Ability to multi-task effectively under deadlines
- Be able to work in a multicultural and fast-paced environment
- Strong written, verbal communication and people skills
- Ability to work independently and accurately as a self-starter as well as with a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
