Title: Internal Communications Support: Communications Manager
Location: San Jose, Ca
Contract: 6+month ( renewed quarterly)
Job Summary An individual contributor, the Communications Manager will support corporate Communications team with strategic communications planning, content development / execution, and program and event management for employee and managercommunications.
Primary Responsibilities Content Development
Manage relationships with cross-functional team members and subject matter expertsserving as a trusted communications advisor and employee communications expert. Develop, manage and execute integrated, strategic global employee communications plans including managing story development for Intranet. This includes researching and shaping stories, assigning writers, editing, overseeing the story review process, and finalizing stories for posting. Content will include major business units/functions, corporate initiatives and company.
Gather company facts, get approvals, draft the content for the By the Numbers features, and work with graphic designer on images. Further develop and manage the new Photo Featurechoose photo, write related content, get approvals, etc.
Assist in managing the daily editorial calendar, content creation and employee submissions for global (internal and external) / U.S. / San Jose / comm digital signage feeds. Provide content management application training to new editors. Maintain updates to editorial reference guide and editorial tips for editors. Manage content updates. Assist with quarterly metrics reporting and special projects as needed.
Project Management
Assist with managing internal events as needed for employees and managers.
Miscellaneous support as needed on employee engagement activities / initiatives. Also partner with cross-functional communicators and business partners to help increase employee engagement opportunities for global employeesaligned to current employee sentiment.
AliasDuty
Manage timely responses to the global-employee-communications email alias, responding to story submission ideas / inputting to teams editorial calendar to investigate and working with clients/stakeholders for answers to queries.
Monitor popular cross-company email aliases (clueless, investlist) to help track employee sentiment and flag hot items.
Qualifications BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, PR, Business, or equivalent
7-10 years of related experience in internal communications or communications planning
Strong written communications skillsdevelops written communication that is content rich, highly stylized, and persuasive; maintains continuity of structure, thought, content and style over time
Excellent project management skills, extremely organized and attentive to details
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and demands with limited resources
Ability to leverage relationships with influencers to accomplish cross-functional objectives.
