Director of Marketing, Global
The Director of Marketing is responsible for securing Canto's place in the world, for communicating the company's value to customers and partners, and for ensuring that our customers know and love Canto products. This includes the management of Canto's marketing efforts, including marketing strategy, communications, demand generation, and coordination and communication of product launches. Reports to General Manager, Canto Software Inc., San Francisco.
Goals and Responsibilities
You will manage a distributed global marketing team (Houston, Berlin, San Francisco)
Strategic Goals: Marketing Strategy and Execution
• Create, implement, and measure the success of Canto's global marketing activities
• Execute Canto's strategic marketing plan, including the development and execution of cross-functional marketing plans
• Review, evaluate and assess market opportunities for Canto, including customer needs, emerging market needs, and competitive assessments
• Develop lead generation strategy that aligns with the marketing plans and with regional strategies for revenue generation, focused on generating net new business for Canto products
• Express Canto's brand and communicate Canto's messages and positioning, including consistent communications to all constituencies, internal and external. This includes responsibility for corporate identity, branding activities and the creation and communication of the corporate and product messages for the marketplace
Tactical Objectives: Daily Responsibilities
• All components of normal ongoing marketing operations, including maintenance of websites, collateral, presentations, and other business information assets.
• Manage the team of corporate and field based marketing specialists
• Generate qualified leads in line with Canto's growth targets, and manage the entire lead management process from generation of the lead through qualification and turnover of leads to the sales functions. This includes campaigns, search engine optimization, and the capture of qualified leads for Canto's product and service offerings
• Develop, implement and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the marketing function with other departments and the executive team
• Work with executive management team to make sure that the company's philosophy, mission and vision are communicated throughout the organization
• Write an integrated strategic marketing plan and budget with goals and objectives to be incorporated into the annual business plan
• Coordinate product launches with product management, and manage all related communication product launches
• Manage marketing related IT systems, specifically, Eloqua and Salesforce.
• Develop and coordinate customer retention, satisfaction, cross-selling programs.
• Manage the definition and creation of collateral materials and sales materials in support of Canto's global business with direct sales and partners to enable them communicate the Canto message and value proposition
• Organize appropriate events, partner meetings, analyst briefings
• Work closely with sales management to develop and maintain a channel strategy
Requirements
10+ yrs of experience in business to business marketing in software and services, or related technology. Experience with translating product capabilities into compelling business value/benefit positioning. Experience in a global marketing role dealing with multicultural products, customers and partners.
Professional Skills:
• Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational skills
• Superior knowledge of technology marketing (digital media experience a plus)
• Creative, strategic thinker able to quickly grasp complex issues
• Global perspective and demonstrable experience
• Excellent organizational and management skills
• Industry knowledge of enterprise software
• Strong communication skills
• Experience in market research, market analysis
• Proficient in the use of standard office applications and Salesforce.com
