Chief R&D Tool Architect needed in Santa Clara, CA;

To facilitate the testing of the ICT solutions, a variety of tools from different tool domains are needed. We are planning to set up an open tools integration architecture or framework for the network solution R&D + tests and product R&D + tests and to integrate the tools from our tool R&D department and commercial companies.
And the candidate we’re looking for is an industry system or tools integration architecture expert in the field of ICT.
Responsibilities;
The main responsibilities of this position are:
1. Define R&D Tools integration architecture (for both Design & Test) in order to address the E2E R&D Tools efficiency & effectiveness
2. Lead a team to analyze and break down the R&D tool architecture in details and provide the direction & instruction to the specific domain Tools architect
3. Identify the technology evolvement trend and potential business value and lead a team to explore and develop those emerging Tools technologies.
4. Guide & influence the R&D teams to lift up development (including R&D and test) Competence in order to build up the E2E R&D Efficiency/Capability
5. Conduct Industry best practice analysis & Gap analysis based on Huawei present situation and provide improvement roadmap, implementation strategy and planning
Qualifications;
1. At least 15 years of R&D + Test experience, in depth knowledge of product and solution design and testing, Process & Methodology.
2. Have experience in designing system/Tools architecture for large products or ICT software solutions for at least 5 years. Experts are preferred with ALM and Rational tools at least 5 years of R&D experience from tier 1 software companies such as IBM, HP, Microsoft, Sun, Oracle etc.
3. Have R&D experience with the tier 1 telecom Operators, Providers or IT Companies.
4. Have experience in leading the Optimization of software R&D Methodology & Process
5. Good communication and documentation skills, good team working and problem solving skills, demonstrated ability to be mentor in training people
6. Education: Telecommunication, CS & Automation Control related fields
Related prerequisite;
• Workshops and F2F discussions in China – 3 months per year, Mandarin language skills are a big plus
