Overview of the Role:
As a member of the senior management team, the Chief Development Officer designs and implements a comprehensive strategy to increase our agency's fundraising sophistication and revenue contribution. The Chief Development Officer works with the Marketing and program departments to create a culture of fundraising awareness and the collateral materials to ensure success.

The Chief Development Officer is an innovative, entrepreneurial and creative leader who brings demonstrated success in fundraising and communications, preferably within the Jewish community. S/he is a passionate advocate for the mission and vision of the OFJCC. S/he is adept at working closely with board, staff, and volunteers, developing new constituencies, and communicating widely to a variety of stakeholders in order to achieve ambitious development goals.

The OFJCC just launched a 5-year 54 million campaign, so the Chief Development Officer will be responsible for driving the institution toward achieving this goal.

Responsibilities:

Planning/Strategy:
� Lead the evolution and growth of the JCC's financial development efforts through community building, planning, strategy, and management
� Encourage a "culture of philanthropy" throughout the organization by educating each program director and manager about development and fundraising
� Work with the management team, development team, and program staff to identify and steward new development prospects, developing tailored strategies to support each category of donor
� Conduct prospect research, develop prospect list and cultivate and nurture relationships
� Develop multi-faceted development plan, encompassing prospect development activities, strategic communications, and solicitation spanning preschool, comprehensive campaign, annual fund, and stewardship

Management:
As part of the senior management team
� Educate and engage management team colleagues in the importance and implementation of agency-wide fundraising goals
� Support management team colleagues in fulfilling the agency-wide goals they lead
� Actively participate in the process of short- and long-term strategic planning and the evaluation and implementation of the plans
� Develop a close working relationship with the board ensuring they are active contributors and solicitors
� Recruit, retain, inspire, train, manage, and support a team of development professionals in achieving organizational fundraising goals
� Participate in agency-wide activities and programs
� Support the CEO in all donor-relations activities

Campaign:
� Provide strategic oversight of comprehensive and annual campaigns, including staff management, donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
� Provide exceptional donor relations including identification, cultivation, solicitation and appreciation
� Maintain a vibrant and focused annual giving program
� Create a menu of benefits for upper donor levels and corporate sponsors
� Staff Major Gifts Committee and Campaign Strategy Task Force. In collaboration with these committees, establish campaign goals, objectives, messages, collateral, and naming opportunities

Qualifications:
� Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 7-10 years' experience
� Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects
� Proven ability to translate broad goals and strategies into programs and activities that increase revenue
� Strong experience with face-to-face solicitations including gifts of six figures and higher
� Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience in communications to multiple constituencies
� Broad-based knowledge of various development campaign activities
� Experience in nonprofit management, preferably within a Jewish communal organization
� Managerial experience, including direct leadership of development professionals and administrative support staff
� Experience working with volunteers and lay committees
� Proven ability in team building skills with both professional and lay leadership
� Strong knowledge of Jewish history, culture, and practice
� Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities and move quickly from one project to another while maintaining overall perspective
� Demonstrated track record of motivating and energizing others
� Strong budgeting, strategic planning, and marketing skills
� Superior interpersonal skills
� Excellent written and verbal skills

The Marketing Program Manager Consultant will be responsible for project management of a new sales playbook that will educate our client's National Services Sales Team on a new sales initiative. The Manager of Communications (“Manager”) will report directly to and support the Corporate Director of Communications (“Director”) for the company. The Manager is responsible with the development and execution of all public relations, marketing communications, social media, community relations, and executive communications, coordination with Business Areas (BAs) on marketing and support Human Resources (HR) on employee engagement.

Duties/Responsibilities:


•Assist to develop and execute the Annual Communications Plan that is aligned with the corporate and business area strategic goals.
•Support Director with the company brand development, including working with a national brand firm to develop and maintain the company brand guidelines; communicate the company brand guidelines to all stakeholders, ensuring consistency across all operations and BAs.
•In conjunction with the Director create and deploy a proactive media relations and social media strategy that drives BA growth and aligns with the company vision, goals, objectives, strategies and initiatives (social media function pending hiring E-Media Data Comms Rep position).
•Initiate a strategic media relations campaign to build favorable relationships with the local, national and trade media, establishing the company executives as thought leaders within their fields.
•In conjunction with pending E-Media Data Comms Rep position, establish the company Corporate Social Media Policy and external digital content. Ensure the company online visibility enhances the company brand and supports key strategic pursuits.
•Assist the Director in authoring executive speeches, scripts, and presentations for the President/CFO.
•Review/edit talking points, white papers, op-eds, web content, blogs, social media posts and copy for advertising and marketing publications.
•Author and disseminate company external communications that advance the company news and initiatives to key audiences with CFO approval.
•Manage the press release process from creation to distribution. Work with the Communications Representative to coordinate with BAs, Contracts, Security, ITAR and Legal to insure consistency and required approvals.
•Oversee implementation of an online media content management system and database that serves as a repository and distribution tool for the company news distribution, media lists and news monitoring.
•Provide third-party media training for the corporation executive leaders as required, and serve as the company in house media trainer for Business Development and other public facing company leaders.
•Partner with Crisis Management team to establish/manage a crisis/issues management protocol and PR support team to protect the company reputation.
•Provide communications support to HR for employee engagement programs (e.g. the company Employee Speaker Series) to keep the company team informed and engaged.
•Manage the company third-party communications vendors, including annual contract review and/or renewal.
•Assist with editing the company’s BA newsletters.

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all the company Policies, Procedures, and Compliance regulations (internal and external)

Requirements

Requirements:
* Defense/Space Industry experience preferred
* Minimum of 5 up to 10+ year’s progressive PR experience gained within an agency or in-house corporate communications position.
* Must have impeccable time management and “crisis communication” experience.
* Certification in Project Management or has demonstrated strong Project Management experience.
* Proven track record delivering strategic and measureable PR results at a senior level.
* Prefer bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, political science or related field.

* Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance.
