Job Title: Global Product Line Manager, Audio/Transducer Products, SF bay area

Our client is an Audio/Loudspeaker company located in the San Francisco Bay area and South China. They are seeking a Product Line Manager, expert in audio Transducers. Job location will be SF bay area.
The position of Global Product Line Manager is a multi-faceted role that is responsible and accountable for all aspects of the Company's product management strategy and execution, and plays a key advisory function in sales and marketing, and strategic planning. The GPLM will participate collaboratively in every high-level strategic decision made in the Company regarding the transducer roadmap and business strategy. The GPLM is a key evangelist both internally and externally for the business strategy regarding Transducers.
The GPLM reports to the Head of the Transducer Business Unit with a dotted line report into the Sr. Director of Sales Marketing. The GPLM will operate with relative autonomy in addressing Company goals, with the need to build consensus internally for the transducer business plan and roadmap. The GPLM will need to perform all necessary market research to develop both quantitative and qualitative support for the GPLM's proposed strategy and roadmap. The GPLM will also be responsible for the development of sales tools, and will work closely with the Marketing team to ensure that market knowledge of the company's products is generated.
The GPLM must take a global view and combine understanding of the transducer market landscape with a deep understanding of the company's capabilities to execute to a plan. The GPLM will propose executable strategic initiatives to grow the company's Transducer Business Unit.
Required Skills:
Engineering background within the audio industry
A minimum of three years of product planning expertise within the audio industry
MBA preferred
Work strategically and tactically through all phases of Product Management
Market Assessment (TAM/SAM)
Competitive analysis
Develop specifications, performance targets, price targets, positioning, features
Value proposition analysis
investigate new categories, the technology used in them and the feasibility of introducing a product into the category
Ideation and Road mapping
Maintaining a leading edge knowledge of industry, market, competitive landscape, technology
Drive industrial design with internal and external resources
High-level understanding of component transducer design
Launch messaging
Ongoing Product Marketing (in collaboration with Director of Marketing)
Knowledge of Klippel, LEAP, CEA2010, MLSSA, LMS test procedures
Support reviewers
Train sales staff regarding new products
Work with marketing to setup trade shows
Interface with other company functional teams to deeply understand the company's capabilities
Self-motivated individual who takes ownership
Positive attitude
