Job Title: Development Associate - 3 Month Contract (Ecumenical Hunger Project)
Reports to: Executive Director
Position Status: Exempt
Position Summary:
Responsible for outreach and fundraising, development planning, social media activities, Friends of EHP coordination, providing support to the executive director, administrative staff and other duties as requested.

Primary Responsibilities
a. Responsible for assisting with fundraising duties including any necessary work associated with special fundraising events.
b. Responsible for development outreach as directed by the Executive Director including speaking engagements, attending community meetings and congregational outreach.
c. Responsible for keeping the Friends of EHP engaged including coordination of meetings, get-togethers and correspondence.
d. Assist with budget and prepare development plans annually.
e. Responsible for keeping EHP active on all social media sites and work with the Executive Director on social media ideas and planning.
f. In conjunction with Grant Writer, assist with maintaining the donor database including data entry and acknowledgement letters
g. Add volunteers and walk in donors to mailing list
h. Assist the Executive Director with any administrative related duties when requested.
i. Attend community (congregations, partner organizations, etc) events representing EHP
j. Direct contact with foundation managers to influence grant decisions
k. Work with Contract grant writer and Board Development committee to develop annual revenue targets and plan
l. Assist with special fundraising events
m. Solicit volunteers and in kind donations
n. Indirect and/or direct contact with donors including responding to information requests, ensuring prompt preparation of thank you notes, etc., and assisting in preparation of EHP newsletter
o. Holiday appeal via Facebook page and Goggle + websites
p. Research grants � shared with Grant Writer
Note: Duties and responsibilities shall include the principal functions of the job. It is not a complete listing of all miscellaneous, incidentals, or other duties which may be assigned during normal operations. Minimum amount of overtime will be required.
Goals and Objectives
�Assist in the preparation of the newsletter for holiday appeal in November and spring appeal (Need to put dated and detail the activities); then prepare the mailings (both email and hardcopy) for major appeals and coordinate with board members to send out
�Working with the Executive Director, prepare list of organizations to connect with and to send regular updates for donations outreach
�Participate in development committee phone call or meetings with board members
�Track donor information, and determine strategies for retention, upgrade and acquiring new donors
�Enhance EHP Facebook and web presence by developing knowledge of new ways of using on-line and social media for non-profit organizations; work on adding content to on-line sites
�Work with the Events committee to solicit major donors and sponsors for Steppin� Out, fundraiser
�Work with the Grant Writer to develop plans for contacting new grant opportunities
�Develop knowledge of grant programs in Santa Clara and San Mateo County that could be opportunities for EHP
�Weekly report to Director

Required Skills/Experience
Technical savvy with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Must have experience with grant writing, donor relations, public speaking. Must have knowledge and skills in using social media such as Facebook
