Position – Summary
My client is a leader in the field of energy and asset management based in the Boston area, delivers customer-proven, cloud-based solutions that help multi-site organizations better manage their equipment, lower costs, increase energy efficiency and support their sustainability goals. Their award-winning solutions have been adopted by numerous major brands, including Arby’s, Wendy’s, Pizza Hut, Ann Taylor, Five Below, Shell, and many more.
They are looking for a highly motivated and passionate person to join our team working to sell innovative solutions that deliver the future of energy and asset management.
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM), based at their corporate office in Newton, MA, is a critical member of the sales organization, playing a key role in driving their growth in the western region, which includes the states of CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, UT, NV, AZ, NM, & CO. The RSM is the face and voice of the company in the region, and is essential to the success of the company.
This is an individual selling role to begin, with staff added as required. Ideally this person will have previous West Coast selling experience or have held a similar role in the past and understands the lay of the land.
Reports to the VP Sales & Marketing
Responsibilities:
· Develop and manage the pipeline for the region and consistently generate new business
· Develop and report on regional activities including prospecting, pipeline growth, and sales calls results
· Accurately forecast sales including close dates
· Prospect new opportunities while growing sales within the existing customer base
· Investigate and understand the internal business process of prospects and customers; strategize, present and demonstrate a tailored solution.
· Build relationships with key executives (C-Level) and department managers at target accounts
· Stay current on products, technology and sales processes
· Record all prospect and customer information and maintain detailed records in the CRM (Salesforce)
· Team with other RSMs, Inside Sales, Sales Support, Marketing and Product Management, and Senior Management to share best practices and other pertinent sales information.
· Provide key input on the development of sales messaging, sales collateral and go-to-market strategies
Required Skills and Competencies:
· Minimum of 3-5+ years of relevant software sales experience
· Successful and proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals with technology-enabled enterprise products and services.
· Prior experience in a high activity sales environment where cold calling, field visits, and pipeline management are key
· Professional, ambitious, determined and results-oriented mind set
· Positive attitude, team oriented self-starter who can work independently as well as collaboratively to achieve individual and team goals.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Knowledge of Software as a Service (SaaS)/Cloud Based Solutions - Strong familiarity with web applications
· Knowledge of Salesforce.com
· Previous start up experience working remotely in a fast-paced environment
· Minimum of a 4 year college degree
Highly Desired Skills:
· Experience selling energy and/or asset management solutions to multi-site facilities
· Prior experience selling Software/Hardware Solutions to chain restaurants, convenience stores, and retail stores
