Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is looking for a full time/permanent Corporate Communications Manager for our clients' Corporate Communications team. The Manager will have a unique opportunity to take our client brand and corporate story to the next level.
The Communications Manager will build strong relationships across the organization to implement and advise on strategic initiatives that include brand, corporate narrative, thought leadership, and content strategy and development, among other things.
The ideal candidate has experience in brand strategy, corporate communications, and content development and execution. (S)he is a strong conceptual and creative thinker, amazing at crafting stories that inspire, motivate and engage and has experience ghost writing on behalf of the C-suite.
We're looking for candidates who are highly collaborative, positive, and have a passion for delivering results. Must be able to provide 3-5 recent writing samples in order to be considered for the role.
Responsibilities:
Develop and evangelize company brand positioning and value proposition, through effective and engaging storytelling that engages customers, partners, prospects, and internal employees throughout all touch points
Meet with internal stakeholders and SMEs to aggregate brand, corporate, and product information, pulling out the most interesting angles, then crafting a variety of internal- and external-facing communications vehicles
Work with internal teams and external agencies on creative development and execution of marketing campaigns
Regularly meet with C-level executives, quickly learn their voice, uncover key insights, and craft ghostwritten executive communications content for blogs, bylines, speeches, etc.
Manage development and publishing of content, ensuring accurate version control, timely editorial review, approval, and publishing deadlines are met
Skills:
8-10 years combined B2B customer-facing brand, corporate communications, and/or executive communications experience at a business or agency. Must have experience working for at least one technology firm, client, or publication.
Strong in creating brand voice, developing message strategies and writing clear, on-target content and provocative copy for multiple channels
Exceptional writing skills (please be prepared to provide links or examples of your work). Must have the ability to assess/understand varied audience needs and points-of-view and make technical information clear and easy to understand in the most compelling/interesting way.
A broad range of writing expertise, spanning corporate blogs, short form content for company webpages, 800-1000-word media bylines, video/podcast/presentation scripts. Executive communications experience a strong plus.
Ability to write and edit concisely with accuracy and speed.
Ability to balance solid strategic thinking and flawless execution in a fast-paced environment.
Strong ability to build relationships, influence, and communicate with ease at all levels (including executives).
Results-oriented, energetic, efficient, resourceful team player with a dedication to excellence.
Journalism background a plus.
BA/BS in Communications, Business, Marketing, Journalism, or English.
Salary: Full time/permanent/salaried employee of client. Competitive total compensation package D.O.E., w2, including annual bonus and comprehensive benefits
Location: This position is fully onsite at clients' office in San Mateo, CA. No phone calls, please.
